"M acklemore has been in the news in recent weeks, although not for the reasons he would have liked. The rapper was removed from Ed Sheeran 's concert tour. It happened in early September, while Macklemore was serving as the opening act. It was then that he used his time on stage to call for the liberation of Palestine and performed ‘Hind’s Hall,’ his protest song for the cause.

A few hours later, complaints about the matter followed. The strongest came from Robert Kraft , owner of Gillette Stadium. Thus, on September 14, Macklemore announced that he would not take part in the remaining eight dates. Among his reasons, he highlighted that the stadium owners were threatening Sheeran with preventing the concerts if his name continued.

For his part, Ed Sheeran explained that the expulsion was the promoter's decision, and that he had nothing to do with it, he was only following orders. That did not spare him from criticism in the days that followed. The tour continued, the UK artist opened up publicly, even becoming emotional over the negative comments he had received.

Macklemore, after being removed from Ed Sheeran's tour: “Free Palestine”

For Macklemore's reaction, it was necessary to wait a month. This Friday, October 23, the rapper spoke for the first time after being removed from the tour. He has made the decision to start a concert tour under the name ‘Free Palestine’. At its first concert, he was very sincere about what he felt after being removed.

"Being a human being right now is not complicated," he stated. In his view, speaking out on different causes should never be a political issue. And, according to Macklemore, “it is human to have a heart” . That is why he ended his statement with these words: “Free Palestine, free Sudan, free Congo, free Haiti, freedom for all the people affected by ICE in America who are afraid to leave their homes”.
