Metallica makes history in Las Vegas: debuts at The Sphere with a crushing and colossal immersive show
The band delivered a unique experience

Metallica made history by becoming the first metal band to take over The Sphere in Las Vegas . Last Thursday, October 1, the quartet officially kicked off its highly anticipated residency titled ‘Life Burns Faster’ , delivering an immersive experience that redefined the limits of a heavy rock concert. The opening show perfectly combined the band’s sonic power with the venue’s colossal technology .
The gigantic 160,000-square-foot wraparound LED screen completely enveloped the thousands of attendees with skies of fire, colossal projections of the band members, and a hyper-realistic gothic aesthetic. They even surprised the audience with an imposing statue inspired by ‘...And Justice for All’ virtually rising above the pit.
Likewise, they were accompanied by cutting-edge immersive sound and multisensory effects that caused legendary songs such as ‘Master of Puppets’, ‘Battery’ and ‘Creeping Death’ to take on a new three-dimensional dimension. It should be noted that the Metallica experience goes far beyond the walls of The Sphere, as The Venetian and The Palazzo complexes will host parallel official activities.
This exclusive residency includes a total of 24 concerts that will run through March 2027
Finally, the show featured a crushing setlist that brought back indispensable classics, revived surprises like ‘Now That We"re Dead’ and paid an emotional tribute to Cliff Burton during ‘The Call of Ktulu’ . In short, the concert was an unprecedented technological display meticulously designed to break the conventional mold of live rock.
This exclusive residency includes a total of 24 concerts that will run through March 2027 . In addition, they will be presented under the ‘No Repeat Weekend’ format, which guarantees that fans who attend both dates of the same weekend will enjoy two completely different setlists and stage productions.
