Mick Jagger, 83, trains 5 to 6 days a week and runs 12 km a day: "I go to bed around 2 in the morning and wake up at 10 a.m."
The Rolling Stones frontman reveals the exercise, diet and rest habits that keep him in top shape

M ick Jagger continues to defy the passage of time. At 83 years old, the leader of The Rolling Stones maintains a training routine fit for an elite athlete: he works out between five and six days a week and takes meticulous care of his diet and rest. That discipline is what allows him to keep giving it his all on stage, where he can cover up to 19 kilometers in a single concert.
Far behind are the excesses of his early years in rock. The British singer has embraced a lifestyle focused on longevity and on physical and mental well-being, a transformation that explains much of his surprising vitality.
Varied training to build endurance
Jagger works under the supervision of a coach specialized in high-performance athletes. His program combines very different disciplines with a clear goal: to build endurance, strength, and flexibility. He alternates strength-training sessions with running, sprints, cycling, swimming, and even kickboxing.
To that foundation he adds dance and classical ballet classes , which are essential for maintaining the posture, balance, and agility he displays in every performance. He completes his routine with yoga and pilates , two practices that help him improve joint mobility and reduce stress.
Organic diet, less alcohol and eight hours of sleep
Food is another of the pillars of his fitness. His diet is based on organic products and high-quality complex carbohydrates, such as brown rice, artisan bread, and legumes, which provide him with sustained energy.
The musician left drugs behind and, at the age of 58, drastically reduced his consumption of alcohol , aware that he needed to take care of his body in the long term.
Rest is non-negotiable either. Jagger follows a strict sleep schedule: he goes to bed around two in the morning and wakes up at ten, which guarantees him eight hours of sleep to recover his muscles and arrive at his commitments with a clear mind.
His case demonstrates that consistency, good nutrition, and rest are key to aging healthily.
