Before the transformations, the cosmic battles and the ever-growing power levels, there was a boy riding a golden cloud and an adventure built around seven Dragon Balls . LEGO is returning to that beginning for its first official Dragon Ball set, pairing Kid Goku with the wish-granting dragon Shenron.

Announced on September 29, the LEGO Icons Dragon Ball: Shenron & Goku set launches a new partnership between LEGO and Toei Animation, the studio behind the anime based on Akira Toriyama’s creation. Its choice of characters gives the debut an immediate nostalgic appeal: Goku as a child, with the extraordinary world of his earliest adventures rising around him.

When can fans buy LEGO’s Shenron and Goku set?

The 1,764-piece model, numbered 11390, will cost $179.99 in the United States . LEGO Insiders receive early access beginning November 1, 2026 , before general sales open on November 4. Part of the LEGO Icons range, it is designed for adult builders and collectors.

Shenron’s long, twisting body forms the centerpiece, with Kid Goku riding Kintoun, also known as the Flying Nimbus, within the display. The designers studied frames and poses from the original anime to translate the dragon’s distinctive silhouette into bricks. Goku can be removed and repositioned, while seven elements representing the Dragon Balls form the base.

The finished model stands more than 12.5 inches tall , with a footprint approximately 9.5 inches long and 10 inches wide. It includes one minifigure, Kid Goku , making the dragon itself the main building project rather than surrounding it with a large cast of characters.

That focus is part of what makes the release appealing. Fans who first encountered Dragon Ball through its original adventures can recognize a familiar version of its hero : the small Goku whose curiosity and confidence helped carry the story. For those who arrived through Dragon Ball Z or later series, the model offers a connection to the franchise’s beginnings.

The collaboration also looks beyond this first display. LEGO and Toei have announced that additional Dragon Ball products will arrive in 2027 and subsequent years. However, the debut does not confirm which characters or locations will follow, leaving fans to imagine what a larger collection might eventually include.

For collectors, the immediate decision is more concrete: the price, the space needed to display Shenron and whether this version of Goku is the one they want on their shelf. For longtime fans, the attraction may be simpler. A story they once watched unfold on television is becoming something they can build with their own hands, one piece at a time.
