Taylor Swift made a surprise appearance on "Saturday Night Live" during Dakota Johnson's monologue, as she was talking about her relationships with musicians. The singer ended up taking part in the exchange that led to an indirect reference to Travis Kelce .

Johnson returned as host of "SNL" for the third time just one day after the premiere of "Verity," the film she stars in alongside Anne Hathaway and Josh Hartnett. During the monologue, she described the movie as a “psychosexual erotic thriller” and used that description to joke about her dating history.

Taylor Swift appears and the conversation ends in Cleveland

"What else has happened since the last time I hosted? Well, I went through two very public and very bad breakups with two incredible musicians", Johnson said before adding: "I'm looking for the third". She then compared those experiences to Verity : "So is dating musicians" , before joking about what she usually takes away from concerts: "Some people leave concerts with merchandise and I leave with a two-and-a-half-year relationship".

The actress then assured that she has friends who support her and do not judge her. "Ladies and gentlemen, my literal therapist," she announced. It was then that Taylor Swift appeared on stage and immediately denied that alleged role: "Actually, I’m not your therapist."

Swift went on to jokingly describe what her get-togethers with Johnson are like: "You just show up at my house once a week with an empty bottle of wine and ask me if I want some". She then added that her friend flops down on the couch, overshares, and she occasionally just responds: "Wow, that’s wild!". Johnson rounded out the exchange with an enthusiastic "Sleepover, yeah!", before Swift explained that she ends up giving her Pedialyte and having her security team take her home.

The conversation then returned to the musicians, and Johnson made the comment that ended up bringing the monologue closer to the world of the NFL. "I think I'm actually doing a public service by dating them because, girls, I'm saving you a lot of money on Zoloft". She then listed who should be thanking her: "You're welcome, America. And England too. And parts of Ireland. And Cleveland". The last reference was aimed at Travis Kelce, Swift's husband and someone closely linked to Cleveland, and prompted the punchline "supposedly".

the Artist-Director Honor. In the story, Johnson and Farrell play a couple in crisis, while Swift appears as a figure trying to warn the actress’s character about her husband.

The night still had one final moment between the two. Swift reappeared at the end of Saturday Night Live with a cake for Johnson , who turned 37 on October 4 .

The actress wrapped up her third stint as host just one day after the premiere of Verity , the adaptation of the novel by Colleen Hoover directed by Michael Showalter, in which she plays writer Lowen Ashleigh.
