It's not every day that someone can say they have a dream job on television. Jim Thornton is certainly one of the few who can, as he's been the announcer on Wheel of Fortune for the past 15 years .
His future in that role is now up in the air, though. On Tuesday, Sony Pictures Television announced that Thornton is being suspended indefinitely and won't be on Wheel of Fortune for the foreseeable future.
The statement from the company in regards to Thornton's suspension was brief and somewhat vague: " We have recently been made aware of allegations concerning Jim Thornton. He has been suspended from Wheel of Fortune. "
Sony is investigating Jim Thornton's incident on an American Airlines flight
Sony's decision apparently stems from an incident that took place in May . According to TMZ , T hornton was questioned by law enforcement officials following a commercial flight . A fellow passenger had reportedly complained about his behavior .
American Airlines ' statement to TMZ on the matter: " On May 14, American Airlines Flight 1276 was met by law enforcement upon arrival at Los Angeles International Airport following concerns reported by a customer onboard ."
