Costco upcoming warehouse locations: Where and when are the new stores being opened?
Costco’s latest expansion includes new warehouses, a business center and several openings with dates already confirmed

Costco is preparing another major round of expansion, with 14 new warehouses scheduled to open across the United States and Canada as the retailer continues adding locations at a rapid pace.
The upcoming openings stretch from California and Texas to New York, Virginia and several Canadian markets, giving Costco a broader footprint without entering any entirely new U.S. states.
Some locations already have specific opening dates, while others are still listed only by month. Together, they represent the next stage of a much larger growth plan that could see Costco continue opening dozens of warehouses every year.
The company has already expanded in several U.S. states in 2026, as well as internationally, and chief executive Ron Vachris has said Costco wants to open 30 or more warehouses annually over the next five to 10 years.
Where Costco’s next warehouses are opening
The confirmed upcoming U.S. locations are:
- Chandler, Arizona Business Center
Costco also has four Canadian openings planned:
- Northeast Edmonton, Alberta
Several of the U.S. sites already have more detailed schedules. Lee’s Summit is expected to open October 2, Amherst is targeting October 28 and Camarillo is scheduled for October 30. Other locations haven't yet been given specific public opening dates.
The Chandler project will be a Costco Business Center , which differs slightly from a traditional warehouse by placing more emphasis on products for restaurants, offices and commercial customers. Regular Costco members can still shop there.
Not every opening represents a new market
Some of the projects are expansions or replacements rather than Costco arriving in a community for the first time.
The Newport News warehouse, for example, is expected to replace an existing Costco that has served the Virginia city since 1988. The company purchased a larger nearby site for a new warehouse and fuel station.
Other projects already have pieces of their operations running. The gas station connected to the Camarillo location opened ahead of the warehouse, while Amherst has also begun fuel operations before its full store opening.
Costco ’s continued growth follows a broader strategy of expanding both domestically and internationally.
Vachris has indicated that roughly half of the company’s planned annual openings could be in the United States, with additional expansion expected in Canada, Mexico, Asia, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
More U.S. projects are also in development or under consideration in places such as Downey and Fresno in California, Charleston County in South Carolina, Hillsborough County in Florida, Southborough in Massachusetts, Silver Spring in Maryland, Scottsdale in Arizona and Des Plaines in Illinois.
