Donald Trump is already on RSF's list of press predators: for his attacks and restrictions
Alongside names such as the president of Russia, Vladimir Putin; that of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega; or that of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko

The constant attacks launched by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, are beginning to have consequences . One of them concerns the press . For this reason, the top U.S. leader has been added to the list of press predators compiled by Reporters Without Borders (RSF) , due to his ongoing attacks aimed at reducing journalism to political communication and the restrictions he has imposed on information professionals.
This report that names names came to light this Monday, and Trump is not the only one listed among those singled out. Other leaders had already appeared in previous editions and have continued using the apparatus of the State to muzzle the media, such as the presidents of Russia, Vladimir Putin; Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega; and Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko .
Reasons for Trump's inclusion on this "black" list
That organization offers its reasons in this regard. "His attacks against the press increasingly go beyond the framework of rhetoric and public policies to become physical restrictions imposed on journalists" , since he returned to the White House for a second time at the beginning of 2025.
And they add that Trump has "multiplied the attacks to reduce journalism to political communication" . They also point out that under him, the United States has dropped seven places in one year in its press freedom ranking, ending up in a rather dishonorable sixty-fourth position.
Israel Defense Forces, Chinese Communist Party or Mexican cartels
On top of all this, the report reveals that the Israel Defense Forces, the Chinese Communist Party, and the Mexican cartels, continue to be singled out as the "press predators" whom Reporters holds responsible for "a climate of terror in a supposedly 'peaceful' country" , and yet in which, so far this year, nearly one journalist has been murdered each month by organized crime.
Also included in that group of those who threaten security, and in which the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, appears, is Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
