Powerball Winning Numbers: Results for Wednesday August 26 drawing for the $96 Million jackpot

The jackpot climbed again after nobody matched all six numbers in Monday night’s drawing

The Powerball jackpot is back in play Wednesday night, with an estimated $96 million waiting for anyone who can match all six winning numbers.

No ticket claimed Monday’s $81 million top prize, allowing the jackpot to roll over into the August 26 drawing. The latest drawing is scheduled for approximately 10:59 p.m. ET, and the winning numbers hadn't yet been announced at the time of writing.

A winner choosing the cash option would receive an estimated $41.2 million before taxes rather than taking the full jackpot through the annuity.

Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, with the jackpot continuing to grow until somebody matches all five white balls and the red Powerball.

Monday’s drawing came up empty

The most recent drawing took place Monday, August 24, when the winning numbers were 3, 16, 33, 38 and 68, with a Powerball of 2. The Power Play multiplier was 2x.

Nobody matched all six numbers to claim the jackpot. There were also no tickets matching all five white balls for the standard $1 million prize.

Monday’s Double Play numbers were 5, 6, 34, 38 and 39, with a Powerball of 7. That drawing also failed to produce a winner of the $10 million Double Play jackpot.

The back-to-back misses have pushed the main Powerball prize closer to the nine-figure mark.

How much can players win Wednesday night?

A standard Powerball ticket costs $2, with players selecting five white-ball numbers and one red Powerball.

Matching all six wins the jackpot, but smaller prizes are available without hitting every number. A ticket matching only the Powerball wins $4, while one white ball plus the Powerball also pays $4.

Players can add Power Play for an additional $1, giving them the chance to multiply most non-jackpot prizes.

Double Play can also be added in participating jurisdictions for another $1, creating a second drawing with a top prize of $10 million.

Wednesday’s $96 million jackpot comes only two weeks after one of the biggest Powerball wins of 2026.

A ticket sold in Illinois claimed a $1.04 billion jackpot on August 12, placing it among the largest Powerball prizes ever awarded.

Other jackpot wins this year have included $250.8 million in Arkansas, $230.8 million in Delaware and $209.3 million in North Carolina.

If Wednesday’s drawing again produces no jackpot winner, the prize will roll over once more ahead of Saturday night.
