Trump has it in for Norway, which he calls a "shithole country": the reason, not awarding him the Nobel Peace Prize

The President Donald Trump , has it in for Norway . Very much so, judging by how he has been expressing himself. And the latest incident, in the final stretch of the campaign for the midterm elections next Tuesday, November 3, did nothing but cross the line. He called Norway a “shithole country” for not having received the Nobel Peace Prize , in addition to reviving his insults against Libya, Yemen, Haiti, and Somalia.

The U.S. president has linked his refusal to accept Norwegian immigrants to the Norwegian Nobel Committee’s decision not to award him the 2026 prize.

The US president has declared to his supporters: “I don’t want anyone from Norway. I don’t want to have anything to do with Norway” . And he has argued that he has resolved eight wars and has two more on the way, referring to his supposed diplomatic efforts.

Previously, Trump had already lashed out harshly on another occasion. At the beginning of October, he called it a “stain Norway will never wash away” that they did not award him the prize. And he is sticking to his guns... He continues his campaign to discredit the Nordic country.

In the face of such statements, the Nordic country's foreign minister had to step in yesterday and tell public broadcaster NRK that Trump knows that the committee is independent. “We have reminded him of that, in case anyone was wondering, and that remains the case” , he said on the matter. The Norwegian government has declined to comment further despite the lack of respect shown by Trump once again following the awarding of the latest Nobel Peace Prize.
