When will you get Your Texas Benefits for September 2026? Deposit schedule for every beneficiary
Texas recipients can now check the exact date their September food assistance is expected to hit their Lone Star Card

Texas households receiving food assistance will see September SNAP benefits arrive on different days throughout the month, with deposits spread across nearly four weeks rather than issued all at once.
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission uses a staggered payment system for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits, meaning a recipient’s scheduled deposit date depends largely on the final two digits of their Eligibility Determination Group, or EDG, number.
Under the current schedule, September 2026 payments begin on September 1 and continue through September 28.
Some recipients who were certified before May 1, 2023 may still follow an older issuance schedule, depending on the history of their case.
Households whose usual deposit date does not match the standard calendar should check their Your Texas Benefits account or official benefit notice.

The amount each household receives depends on factors including income, household size and qualifying expenses.
Texas SNAP rules changed significantly in 2026
September payments will also arrive under purchasing restrictions that took effect statewide on April 1, 2026.
Texas SNAP benefits can no longer be used to buy candy, gum or certain sweetened beverages. The rules also cover drinks made with water that contain at least five grams of added sugar or any amount of artificial sweetener.
“Texas is leading the way in aligning SNAP benefits with healthier food options,” Gov. Greg Abbott said. “By implementing these changes, we encourage better nutrition and ensure this program helps families access nutritional food.”
The restrictions also apply to certain candied, glazed or coated fruits, raisins and nuts.
Milk-based drinks and beverages containing more than 50 percent fruit or vegetable juice remain eligible under the program.
Recipients unsure when their September payment will arrive should check the final two digits of their EDG number first , then confirm the date in their Your Texas Benefits account if their case follows a different schedule.
