The murder of a 4-year-old girl in Texas at the hands of her mother has shocked American society. Cibelle Savella, 35, shot and killed her daughter Vivian before handing her over to her ex-husband, Aaron Savella, according to ABC13.
Hours earlier, a judge had decided to grant custody to the father, in a decision that precipitated the tragedy in Houston. The woman, of Brazilian origin, decided to take revenge by killing her own daughter, before also taking her own life.
The couple divorced just two years ago, after only 4 years of marriage. The ruling included a ban on speaking to her daughter in her native language, Portuguese, and also on attending her daughter's extracurricular school activities. In addition, financial obligations were imposed on her regarding child support or health insurance.
'According to the father's lawyer, "the court did not specify exactly how the custody exchange was to be carried out". Something that ultimately never came to pass. The crime and subsequent suicide took place in the presence of Cibelle's current partner, Greg Kubala, and a nanny.'
“Aaron did everything the law requires of a father trying to protect his child. He trusted the courts. He followed all the orders. He waited for the process to run its course. On Tuesday, a judge placed Vivian in his custody, and she was supposed to return home with him that same night. She never did,” the girl's father stated.
