A flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv became a terrifying mid-air emergency after a violent confrontation erupted inside the cockpit.
According to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the co-pilot stabbed the captain and attempted to crash flydubai Flight FZ1073.
The aircraft suddenly descended nearly 14,000 feet in less than 30 seconds as passengers and a crew member forced their way into the cockpit and restrained the alleged attacker.
Other qualified pilots aboard the plane regained control and landed safely in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. All passengers escaped unharmed, and Saudi authorities arrested the co-pilot. Flydubai confirmed a cockpit altercation but said the cause and motive remain under investigation.
