The Milwaukee Brewers are World Series champions for the first time in franchise history
The wait is finally over: The Milwaukee Brewers are World Series champions for the first time in franchise history.

Young ace Jacob Misiorowski delivered a dominant performance, throwing 5.2 scoreless innings while allowing just two hits, rookie Cooper Pratt added two more hits and two RBIs, and the Brewers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 4-1 in Game 5 on Wednesday night to spark a long-awaited celebration among thousands of Milwaukee fans inside Tropicana Field .
Misiorowski was forced to leave the game after suffering a right calf cramp, but not before receiving a standing ovation from the Brew Crew supporters, who took over the section behind Milwaukee’s dugout during the final three games of the series.
The 22-year-old Pratt also etched his name into World Series history, setting a rookie record with six consecutive hits before delivering a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning. Meanwhile, Jackson Chourio established a five-game World Series record with 11 hits .
The championship arrives in the franchise’s 58th season . The organization began as the Seattle Pilots in 1969 before moving to Milwaukee one year later.
The Brewers’ only previous World Series appearance came in 1982 , when their championship dreams ended in heartbreak. Milwaukee held a 3-1 series lead against the St. Louis Cardinals , but lost Game 7 by a 6-3 score after surrendering the advantage.
Now, more than four decades later, the Brewers have finally reached the top of baseball.
