The Rays stay alive and spoil the Brewers’ historic World Series celebration
The offense that had been missing throughout the World Series finally came alive for the Rays, as they won Game 4 to keep their season alive.

The Tampa Bay Rays avoided elimination on Tuesday by defeating the Milwaukee Brewers 4-3 in 12 innings in Game 4 of the World Series , played at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, to remain alive in the championship race.
After losing the first two games at American Family Field and dropping the series opener at home as well, the Rays responded when they needed it most and stopped what appeared to be an inevitable sweep by Milwaukee.
Tampa Bay’s offense, which had been one of the biggest absences throughout the World Series, finally showed up in the most important game to extend the series and force a fifth matchup.
The game began with the pitchers dominating until the Rays broke the scoreless tie in the second inning. A double by Chandler Simpson allowed Jonny DeLuca to score and give Tampa Bay a 1-0 lead.
The Brewers answered in the fourth inning with a double by Cooper Pratt that tied the game, but Tampa Bay regained the lead shortly after thanks to a run driven in by Junior Caminero .
However, David Hamilton came through in the fifth inning with a solo home run to tie the game again and send the matchup into an intense pitching battle.
Just when it looked like Milwaukee was heading toward another victory, the Rays delivered a dramatic comeback in the 12th inning. Jonny DeLuca hit a single to tie the game at 3-3 and, shortly afterward, Chandler Simpson came through again with another base hit that drove in the winning run.
With the 4-3 victory , Tampa Bay avoided elimination, delayed the Brewers’ celebration and forced a Game 5 that keeps a World Series alive that once appeared to be decided.
