NASCAR remains scandalized as more details continue to come to light about the extramarital relationship that Clayton Odie Hughes was having with driver Jennifer Jo Cobb. Jim Rorie, a private investigator hired by Hughes's wife, testified before a North Carolina court about how he discovered the infidelity in October 2020, at the Comfort Inn hotel.

'"I heard the bed creaking, female moans and, occasionally, a male voice. There was no doubt about what I was hearing,” he stated.'

'“As the squeaking continued, the moans of a man could clearly be heard saying ‘Shit!’ and ‘Oh my God!". I think there was a moment when I heard the woman scream, ‘Don’t stop!’, he said.'"

According to the Daily Mail, the private investigator arrived at the hotel after having placed a tracking device on Hughes's vehicle, given his wife's suspicions of infidelity.

After confirming her husband's extramarital relationship with Jennifer Jo Cbb, Tracey Hughes filed a lawsuit against the Nascar driver for "alienation of affection and adultery," invoking North Carolina's "homewrecker" law.

The court has considered the relationship between Cobb and Hughes proven, and has ordered the driver to pay her lover's ex-wife $850,000 in damages.

According to the jury, Cobb "willingly, intentionally, and deliberately seduced, enticed, and alienated" her lover, who was subsequently assaulted by Eddie Troconis, the pilot's ex-husband, during an event in 2021.
