Arch Manning risks his career and sending his helmet flying in shocking collision
Arch Manning’s scary collision raises concerns after reckless run leaves him without his helmet.

Maximum concern erupted after Arch Manning was seen taking what many considered a completely unnecessary risk during the Week 3 College Football matchup between the Texas Longhorns and UTSA .
It was not the best performance for the quarterback projected to be one of the first selections in the next NFL Draft if he decides to declare. Manning finished with 164 total yards and two touchdown passes, while also rushing for 50 yards .
However, one play in particular stole the spotlight. In the second quarter, with Texas in control of the game 17-3, Manning decided to leave the protection of his offensive line and take off running. He was met by as many as three UTSA defenders on a collision that sent his helmet flying off.
Several users on social media described the play as irresponsible and unnecessary — and they have a point.
How did Texas fare against UTSA?
Arch Manning threw two early touchdown passes to Cam Coleman but struggled throughout the night as No. 1 Texas defeated UTSA 30-6 in the Longhorns ’ final game before beginning their SEC schedule.
Texas (3-0) remained No. 1 in the rankings after defeating Ohio State last week with a 21-point fourth-quarter comeback led by Manning. However, against the Roadrunners, the quarterback completed just 16 of 32 passes for 161 yards, took several hard hits and left the game with six minutes remaining once the outcome had already been decided.
Coleman opened the scoring after Rasheem Biles intercepted UTSA on the first play of the game and added his second touchdown on a spectacular leaping catch in the corner of the end zone to give Texas a 17-3 lead in the second quarter.
Gianni Spetic added three field goals, and freshman Derrick Cooper capped the victory with his first career college rushing touchdown. Texas’ defense continued its dominant form, allowing just 143 total yards and keeping UTSA out of the end zone.
The Longhorns will now face No. 15 Tennessee in their SEC debut.
