Colorado's mascot puts on a high-intensity spectacle before a big victory
What happened?

On September 12, during the pregame festivities for Colorado vs. Weber State at Folsom Field, Ralphie, Colorado's iconic mascot, returned to the field for one of the most anticipated moments before a home game: her traditional run. This time, the bison was accompanied by four handlers, two men and two women, who were responsible for guiding her along the route and making sure the entire tradition went as planned. However, there was one thing that made this entrance feel different: Ralphie seemed to be in much more of a hurry than they were .
The mascot picked up speed as soon as the run began, forcing all four handlers to accelerate to keep up with her. At times, it looked as if they were the ones trying to catch her, while Ralphie charged across Folsom Field without showing any signs of slowing down .
The images were amusing because of the way all four handlers had to run behind her, but they also offered a glimpse of the power behind Colorado's mascot and the risk she can pose if the necessary measures are not taken to make her participation possible.
But the run was only the beginning of a big day
After Ralphie left the field, Colorado still had an important task ahead: opening its home season with a win over Weber State.
The Buffaloes went on to beat Weber State 52-21 at Folsom Field in a game that quickly tilted in their favor . Colorado went into halftime with a 42-14 lead and remained in control throughout the second half to improve to 2-0.
Julian Lewis was one of the biggest reasons behind the result. The quarterback threw for 366 yards and four touchdowns , while also adding another score on the ground. The young quarterback emerged as one of the main figures behind an offense that delivered a dominant performance against Weber State.
Colorado also found answers on the ground and through the air
Lewis was not alone on an offense that moved the ball with ease. Micah Welch rushed for 106 yards and scored on a 55-yard run, becoming the first running back to surpass 100 rushing yards during Deion Sanders' tenure at Colorado , according to the context provided for the game.
Through the air, Joseph Williams also made an impact, finishing with four receptions for 123 yards and two touchdowns. On the other side, Weber State found some of its best moments with quarterback Nate Dahle and receiver Noah Kjar, but they were not enough to change the course of the game .
