Duke cornerback Kimari Robinson sparks outrage after confrontation with athletic trainer

Duke cornerback Kimari Robinson is facing intense criticism after an incident involving a female athletic trainer during the Blue Devils’ 24-20 loss to Bill Belichick’s North Carolina Tar Heels on Saturday.

The incident, which was captured on television and circulated widely on social media, occurred in the third quarter as medical personnel rushed onto the field to assist an injured Duke player. Robinson had approached his teammate, DaShawn Stone, who was down on the turf, but the situation took an uncomfortable turn when an athletic trainer tried to move him aside to reach the injured player.

Robinson appeared to react by swatting the trainer’s arm away. The staffer briefly looked startled before returning her attention to Stone, who required medical attention and was eventually able to leave the field under his own power.
