Former Deion Sanders star player could be the solution to Cam Ward’s nightmare with the Titans
The LSU tackle as a player with "elite-level potential in the passing game"

T he Tennessee Titans could be preparing for a major change at offensive tackle, and one of the most highly regarded linemen in the 2027 NFL Draft could be the player waiting to take over. In his latest 2027 NFL Mock Draft for CBS Sports, NFL Draft analyst Mike Renner projected LSU offensive tackle Jordan Seaton to the Titans with the No. 3 overall pick.
Renner's projection would give Tennessee a potential long-term answer at a premium position while also opening the door for the franchise to move on from veteran tackle Dan Moore Jr. "The Titans can finally get out from under the ugly Dan Moore Jr. contract next offseason and they'll fill his shoes with the most polished pass protector in the class," Renner wrote.
He also highlighted Seaton's athleticism, describing the LSU tackle as a player with "elite-level potential in the passing game" and one of the most impressive athletes at the position. For a Titans team building around quarterback Cam Ward, protecting the passer could become one of the franchise's biggest priorities. Adding a tackle capable of handling elite edge rushers would give Tennessee another foundational piece for its offense.
Seaton's rise to the top of the 2027 draft conversation has taken him through two major college programs. A former five-star recruit from I MG Academy, Seaton originally committed to Colorado , where he played under Pro Football Hall of Famer and then-head coach Deion Sanders.
Seaton immediately established himself as an important piece of the Buffaloes' offensive line. According to LSU, he started 22 games during his two seasons at Colorado, with all of his collegiate snaps coming at left tackle.
His 2025 season further elevated his draft stock. Seaton earned second-team All-Big 12 honors after starting the first nine games of the season before an injury ended his campaign. He played 561 offensive snaps and surrendered only one sack.
That performance helped make him one of the most coveted players in the transfer portal. Seaton ultimately transferred to LSU, joining the Tigers as the No. 1 offensive tackle in the portal. LSU lists him at 6-foot-5 and 311 pounds entering the 2026 season. The Tigers represent another major stage for Seaton, this time against SEC competition and with NFL scouts watching closely.
Why Seaton makes sense for Tennessee
Renner's projection is particularly notable because of the position he is filling in Tennessee. The Titans don't need to manufacture a reason to prioritize offensive tackle. Their quarterback investment makes keeping the pocket clean an essential part of the team's long-term plan, and a potential top-three pick would represent a significant commitment to protecting Ward.
Seaton's athletic profile is a major part of the appeal. Pass protection requires more than size. Tackles have to mirror speed rushers, recover when beaten initially and maintain their balance in space. Renner believes Seaton already possesses the athletic traits to excel in that area, calling his potential in the passing game "elite-level."
That assessment puts significant expectations on Seaton entering his LSU season. The Titans would also have to determine whether replacing Moore i s financially and competitively preferable to retaining him. Renner's mock assumes Tennessee will be in position to move on from Moore next offseason , creating an opening at tackle that Seaton could potentially fill
It's important to remember that a mock draft is a projection, not an indication of Tennessee's actual plans. The Titans have an entire NFL season ahead of them, while Jordan still has an entire college season to complete before his draft stock ultimately takes shape. Still, the projection illustrates how quickly Seaton has become part of the conversation surrounding the top of the 2027 NFL Draft.
