So far, so good for Arch Manning 's second season as the starting quarterback for the Texas Longhorns . His first game saw him finish with 305 passing yards and four touchdowns , although an interception soured what could have been a perfect performance.

Up next are the No. 1 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes , which could very well be the toughest test of the season for Manning. If Manning beats Ohio State, his legend will truly begin growing on Texas' campus . He's already a very notable figure, but a win tomorrow night would turn him into a true Longhorns superstar. Even though that's something he doesn't seem to care much for .

In a piece published by ESPN's Chuck Culpepper , Manning comes across as someone who doesn't like the spotlight . As his grandfather Archie Manning puts it, " he likes low-key ". Of course, that isn't exactly possible as the Longhorns starting quarterback. So Manning has needed some help to deal with his unwanted fame: In steps Matthew McConaughey .

Matthew McConaughey gave Arch Manning crucial advice on being in the spotlight all the time

Yes, the iconic Hollywood actor has played a key role in helping Manning come to terms with his fame and navigating it throughout his college career . Manning revealed as much in his interview with Culpepper.

But you know, I've grown to accept what it is, accept who I am, and make the most out of it, and just kind of expect everything. I had a good talk with Matthew McConaughey, and he's kind of helped me navigate that area of my life, and he said, 'You know, don't be surprised by anything. Take everything with a grain of salt. Accept everything. There's no escaping it. It's only gonna get worse, the better you play. So, accept everything.'

If Manning turns into the player many believe he has the potential to be, the spotlight on him is only going to get bigger. Whether he wants it or not, Manning is going to have to come to terms with it. And it sounds like he's taking McConaughey's advice to heart.
