Marshall Manning goes viral in high school debut as Peyton Manning’s son shows what all the hype is about
One play was enough to put another Manning quarterback in the spotlight

M arshall Manning, the son of Peyton Manning, made his high school debut for Baylor School in Tennessee and quickly gave people another reason to pay attention.
On one play, the young quarterback showed impressive mobility as he escaped pressure, kept his eyes downfield and extended the play before delivering the football.
There was nothing spectacularly complicated about it. What stood out was how comfortable he looked. Instead of panicking when the original play began to break down, Manning moved naturally, created time and remained composed, qualities that inevitably generated comparisons and excitement considering the quarterbacks in his family.
Marshall Manning is already dealing with the weight of his last name
The reaction has been enormous. A video of the play posted on August 20 surpassed 21 million views, remarkable attention for a young high school quarterback who is part of the Class of 2030 and is only beginning his career.
Of course, Marshall is Peyton Manning's son, Archie Manning's grandson and the nephew of Eli Manning. His father and uncle combined for four Super Bowl victories, while Archie spent more than a decade in the NFL.
His cousin Arch Manning is now carrying his own enormous expectations at Texas. Marshall was always going to be watched differently from most teenagers who step onto a football field.
But that's also what made his first viral moment interesting. The Manning name brought the cameras and the curiosity, but it didn't make the play for him.
Marshall still has years of development ahead and it is far too early to know where football will eventually take him. For now, though, one sequence was enough to show that the next Manning quarterback has officially entered the conversation.
