Ravens could make explosive QB trade within AFC to save season without Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley
The Baltimore Ravens are down to their third-string quarterback for the rest of the season but still sport a 4-4 record.

To say that the Baltimore Ravens ’ 2026 season has been a rollercoaster would be an understatement. A promising 3-1 start with new head coach Jesse Minter was soured when Lamar Jackson went down with an ankle injury. Backup Tyler Huntley calmed fears by beating the Atlanta Falcons the following week, only for the Ravens to then lose the next two games.
In Week 8, Jackson returned from injury for a massive game against the Buffalo Bills . On his first offensive play, though, Jackson hit his thumb on a defender’s helmet and was knocked out of the game before he could even start it . Making matters worse is that Jackson’s injury requires surgery and will see him miss the rest of the season . In steps Huntley again, right?
Not quite, as Huntley also got injured during his relief appearance against the Bills . Huntley’s injury is so bad that he will also miss the remainder of the season . The Ravens now have to turn to inexperienced third-string quarterback Joe Fagnano . At 4-4 , the Ravens don’t want to throw away their season just yet.
Adam Schefter suggest Baltimore Ravens could explore trade for Daniel Jones
With that in mind, a trade for a quarterback makes a lot of sense at this point in time. Kirk Cousins has been considered the top option, but he has played lights out for the Las Vegas Raiders and they just picked up a key victory to keep them in contention. A team that looks completely out of contention, though, is the Indianapolis Colts , whose quarterback, Daniel Jones , is struggling mightily.
That could present a trade opportunity for the Ravens, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter , who floated the possibility of a Jones trade to the Ravens or Minnesota Vikings on his podcast this week. While Schefter admits he doesn’t have concrete information that Jones will be traded, “sometimes it’s the curverball that you don’t see” .
The Colts have practically punted their season away. They have already traded away Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner , and odds are Jonathan Taylor and Josh Downs will be shipped away too. With Jones playing so poorly, he doesn’t look like the answer for the future as they begin a full-on rebuild. Recouping any potential draft capital for Jones would make a lot of sense for Indy.
