Tyler Loop delivered the winning moment for the Baltimore Ravens in Brazil, then borrowed one of soccer's most recognizable celebrations as the Maracana erupted with a familiar “ siuuuu ”.

The Ravens kicker drilled a 56-yard field goal with one second remaining to beat the Dallas Cowboys 34-31, but Loop 's celebration afterward provided an equally memorable ending to an extraordinary night in Rio de Janeiro .

After watching his kick sail through the uprights, Loop broke into Cristiano Ronaldo 's trademark celebration, performing the famous leap and landing pose as more than 72,000 fans inside the Maracana responded with the familiar “ Siuuuu ” associated with the Portuguese soccer superstar.

The celebration capped a remarkable final sequence. Dallas had tied the game at 31-31 through Brandon Aubrey 's 23-yard field goal with seven seconds remaining, seemingly sending the contest toward overtime.

Lamar Jackson then found Zay Flowers for a 27-yard completion before alertly calling timeout with one second left. That gave Loop the opportunity to attempt the decisive kick, and the rookie delivered from 56 yards to complete the Ravens ' dramatic victory.

Loop 's celebration came after one of the most dramatic finishes of the NFL season. The Ravens improved to 2-1 after repeatedly answering Dallas ' attempts to take control.

Derrick Henry rushed for 89 yards and two touchdowns, while Jackson helped Baltimore recover from a difficult opening stretch. The Ravens led 24-13 in the third quarter before Dallas responded with a series of big plays.

Dak Prescott connected with Jake Ferguson for a 19-yard touchdown before KaVontae Turpin 's 9-yard touchdown run put Dallas ahead 28-24 with less than 10 minutes remaining.

Jackson then led Baltimore down the field, eventually finding rookie tight end Matt Hibner for a 2-yard touchdown that restored the Ravens ' lead at 31-28 with 1:30 left. Dallas answered with Aubrey 's tying kick, but Jackson and Flowers gave the team just enough time to set up Loop.

The Ravens will look for their third victory of the season against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, October 4 with Jackson facing off against the overall first pick in the 2025 NFL Draft , Cam Ward .

How Cristiano Ronaldo's “Siuuuu” became a global celebration

Ronaldo 's celebration first emerged in 2013, when he was playing for Real Madrid against Chelsea in the International Champions Cup. After scoring with a header, he sprinted toward the corner before jumping, turning in the air and landing with his legs spread and arms extended.

Ronaldo has explained that the celebration developed naturally as whist at Real Madrid , he had been using the Spanish word “ si ,” meaning “ yes ,” and the extended “ siuuuu ” eventually became associated with his goals.

The celebration subsequently became a ritual involving both Ronaldo and the supporters. His leap, mid-air rotation and wide-legged landing became instantly recognizable, while crowds began responding with the elongated “ siuuuu !” after he landed.

Its reach eventually extended well beyond soccer after Ronaldo famously performed the celebration after winning the 2014 Ballon d'Or. Numerous athletes have since adopted their own versions, including Jeremiah Smith , Manel Kape , Nick Kyrgios , Carlos Alcaraz , Rory McIlroy and now Loop .

YouTuber IShowSpeed has also become closely associated with the celebration. A prominent Ronaldo fan, Speed regularly recreates the jump, spin and landing for his enormous online audience, helping take the gesture even further beyond the soccer world.
