D.J. Moore injury: He stays down clutching his shoulder as the Bills fear a devastating setback after an alarming fall
Moore was sent to the locker room for X-rays

D. J. Moore remained on the field clutching his shoulder after an alarming fall during the Buffalo Bills’ Thursday Night Football game against the Detroit Lions. The receiver immediately appeared to be in severe pain, creating fears that Buffalo could have lost one of Josh Allen’s most important weapons.
The injury occurred late in the second quarter when Allen rolled to his right and threw toward Moore in the back of the end zone . Moore fully extended his body attempting to make the catch, landed hard on his shoulder and stayed down after the pass fell incomplete.
What is known about D.J. Moore’s injury
Moore eventually stood up and walked off the field under his own power before heading directly to the locker room. The Bills listed him as questionable to return with a shoulder injury and a stinger, and he reportedly underwent X-rays. There is no confirmed collarbone fracture or long-term diagnosis at this time.
A stinger generally involves nerves around the neck and shoulder being stretched or compressed, potentially causing burning pain, numbness or weakness in the arm.
That designation does not necessarily mean Moore suffered a fracture, but further testing will be needed to determine the full severity of the injury.
Buffalo entered halftime with a commanding 27-7 lead over Detroit after scoring 14 points in the first quarter and another 13 in the second. Josh Allen and the Bills controlled the opening half in the first regular-season game at the new Highmark Stadium, although Moore’s shoulder injury cast a worrying shadow over an otherwise dominant performance.
D.J. Moore had not recorded a catch against Detroit before leaving the game, but he was coming off an impressive Bills debut against the Houston Texans with five receptions for 100 yards and a touchdown. If he cannot return, Buffalo will have to rely more heavily on Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman, Josh Palmer and tight end Dalton Kincaid while awaiting a definitive medical update.
