Josh Allen follows wife Hailee Steinfeld into entertainment, launches 'Out of Pocket Studios'
The Buffalo Bills quarterback is expanding his off-field ambitions with a new production company while preparing for his ninth NFL season

Josh Allen is adding another role to his already growing résumé.
The Buffalo Bills quarterback has officially launched Out of Pocket Studios, a new production venture that will allow the reigning NFL star to develop projects across entertainment, advertising and live experiences.
Allen will serve as the company's CEO and executive producer on its projects, giving him a direct role in shaping the content rather than simply lending his name to the business.
The move continues Allen's growing relationship with Skydance Sports, which signed him to an overall deal in 2025.
That agreement gave the quarterback an opportunity to develop scripted, unscripted and branded content, providing the foundation for what has now become Out of Pocket Studios.
For Allen , the new company represents an attempt to turn ideas away from the football field into tangible entertainment projects.
“Skydance Sports has given me a platform to turn the ideas I care most about into something real,” said Allen in a statement. “We’re excited to share what Out of Pocket Studios has created so far, and for everyone to see what we’re building from here.”
Lindsey Cohen has been appointed president of strategy and operations and will oversee the studio's day-to-day business.
The partnership gives Allen access to the infrastructure and entertainment expertise of Skydance while allowing him to develop his own creative identity. It is also an intriguing next step considering who Allen shares his life with.
His wife, Hailee Steinfeld , has been working in entertainment since she was a teenager and has built a career spanning film, television and music.
Steinfeld earned an Academy Award nomination for her performance in True Grit and has since appeared in projects including The Edge of Seventeen, Bumblebee, the Pitch Perfect franchise and the animated Spider-Verse films.
Allen , meanwhile, remains squarely in the middle of his football career. The 2026 season will be his ninth with Buffalo, where he has developed from a raw first-round quarterback into one of the NFL's most prominent players.
Allen's entertainment ambitions are already producing projects
The most notable aspect of Out of Pocket Studios is that Allen is not simply announcing a company with projects still years away.
Its initial slate is already taking shape.
The studio is behind America's Tailgate, a Labor Day television special for CBS, while NFL Play Action is scheduled to premiere Sept. 9. The latter will be hosted by Kyle Brandt and Ally Love , giving Allen's company an immediate presence in NFL-related programming.
Allen has also already sold a comedy series that he created, although additional information about the project, including its release date, has not yet been announced.
That early activity suggests Allen's ambitions extend beyond creating a production company as a future post-football project. He is beginning to build an entertainment portfolio while he is still playing at the highest level.
The timing makes sense. Professional athletes increasingly have opportunities to develop businesses and creative projects around their personal brands, but Allen's partnership with Skydance gives him access to an established Hollywood operation rather than requiring him to build everything independently.
Skydance Sports has already worked on a wide variety of sports-related productions, including documentaries, scripted entertainment and behind-the-scenes NFL projects.
Its portfolio includes NFL Draft: The Pick Is In, which takes viewers inside NFL draft rooms, and America's Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys, a documentary series about the Dallas Cowboys dynasty of the 1990s.
Allen's own popularity could also give the studio a valuable starting point. The quarterback won the NFL MVP award for the 2024 season and has established himself as one of the league's biggest stars, while Buffalo has reached the playoffs in all but one of his NFL seasons.
His immediate priority, however, remains football. The Bills will enter another season expecting Allen to lead their pursuit of a Super Bowl, meaning his responsibilities with Out of Pocket Studios will have to fit around the demanding schedule of an NFL quarterback.
For now, Allen is showing that his ambitions are not limited to what happens between the white lines.
If his playing career eventually takes him away from the NFL, Out of Pocket Studios could give him a ready-made second act in entertainment. But with projects already in production and more reportedly in development, Allen is making that transition long before his football career is finished.
