Tom Brady leaves his colleague bewildered with an unusual phrase about Caleb Williams
The seven-time Super Bowl champion used an unusual word to describe one of the Chicago Bears quarterback's passes, and Kevin Burkhardt could not hide his surprise live on air.

Tom Brady knows perfectly well how to analyze a quarterback pass. However, during Fox's broadcast of the game between the Chicago Bears and the Atlanta Falcons, the legendary former player used such an unusual word that even his booth partner had to react.
The scene took place during Chicago's 31-23 victory, in Caleb Williams' return after missing three games with a hamstring injury. In the first quarter, Williams connected with Luther Burden III for a 25-yard gain, and while the broadcast showed the replay, Brady noticed the way the ball came out of the quarterback's hands.
"The word" Tom Brady used that surprised Kevin Burkhardt
“That ball spins coming out of Caleb’s hands. I mean, there’s even a little smoke coming off the ball when he lets it go,” Brady remarked.
The term “gyrating” can be translated as “spinning” or “rotating,” but it is not exactly a common word for describing an American football pass.
Kevin Burkhardt's reaction was immediate. The commentator laughed and replied: “I had never heard that term used to describe a pass.”
Brady was actually praising the throw. His comment was intended to highlight the speed and movement of the ball as it left Williams' hand. But the choice of word ended up becoming one of the most curious moments of the broadcast.
Caleb Williams and a brilliant game
Beyond Brady’s curious description, Williams had reasons to catch his attention.
The quarterback completed 30 of 36 passes for 305 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions, with a 111.2 rating. His completion percentage, 83.3%, was the best of his career in a game and set a record for a Bears quarterback with at least 30 attempts.
His return was especially notable because he had gone three games without playing. Williams began the afternoon by completing his first 12 passes and led touchdowns on Chicago's first two possessions.
The Bears ultimately prevailed 31-23 and improved their record to 4-2.
Brady's admiration didn't remain only in that comment during the broadcast. After the game, the former quarterback chose Williams as his LFG Player of the Game.
For Williams, it was the third time he received that recognition. In addition, one day after his return against Atlanta, he was chosen NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance.
Thus, Brady wanted to highlight the power of the throw. Burkhardt latched onto the word. And Caleb Williams made sure the rest of the game lived up to the praise.
