Shilo Sanders’ unexpected reaction to Browns snub of Shedeur wins praise from fans
Shilo Sanders refused to criticize Cleveland after Shedeur missed out on the starting quarterback role.

Shilo Sanders has drawn praise for the way he responded to the Cleveland Browns ’ decision not to hand brother Shedeur Sanders the starting quarterback job.
Rather than attacking the organization or rooting against those ahead of Shedeur , Shilo struck a measured tone and insisted his brother’s opportunity will eventually arrive.
"It's a long season. Shedeur’s time will come eventually, whether it’s this year or next year we never praying on nobody's downfall, and we wish the best for everybody," Shilo Sanders said. "You never gonna succeed if you have bad intentions in your heart and your mind."
His comments quickly stood out among fans, particularly given the intense debate surrounding Cleveland’s quarterback competition.
Shilo keeps faith in Shedeur
Shilo has remained vocal in supporting his brother throughout the preseason, even joking about another unusual interruption during one of Shedeur’s appearances.
"I feel that stuff is rigged, though, because last year, whenever I had my preseason game versus the Bills, I think we got a rain delay, too. That’s what was telling me."
"Rain delay was crazy. Rain delay two years in a row was crazy.”
Despite that playful suspicion, his response to Shedeur’s place on the depth chart was noticeably more composed.
The Browns have instead moved forward with Deshaun Watson as QB1, leaving Shedeur facing a longer route toward meaningful NFL snaps.
Browns coach praises Shedeur’s mentality
Cleveland coach Tommy Rees Monken has also been impressed by how Shedeur has handled the situation.
“He was awesome," Monken said. “I mean, you talk about somebody that really understands the long game. What are we really in this for? What am I in it for?”
"To have the Browns be an organization that people aspire to be. The long game. Where do we want to be in the long term? And he understands that as well as a quarterback, right? Where he was at, where he’s at now, where he wants to get to.”
Monken also made clear that Shedeur hasn’t allowed disappointment to alter his approach.
"That is what’s so outstanding about Shedeur understanding that. Really he doesn’t. We met this morning for a good long time and all he had was a smile on his face because he understands what really is in front of him. He’s going to work his b**t off to get better.”
For now, both brothers appear focused on patience rather than frustration, with Shilo making clear there’s no desire to see anyone else fail just to create an opening for Shedeur .
