Bold claim names George Pickens the undisputed star of the Dallas Cowboys

George Pickens hasn’t played a regular-season snap for the Cowboys yet, but one analyst believes he has already proven he’s the most dominant player in Dallas.

The Dallas Cowboys entered training camp with a roster loaded with talent on both sides of the ball, but according to analyst and former team wide receiver Jesse Holley , one player stood out above everyone else and clearly separated himself from the pack: George Pickens .

According to Holley, Dallas’ new receiver was the most dominant player throughout training camp, showcasing a combination of talent, intensity, and commitment that impressed even those within the organization.

“It’s not even close,” Jesse Holley said multiple times. “And if either of you don’t say the same thing I’m about to say, you are absolutely lying to yourself. Far and away, the best player in training camp this year was George MF Pickens. Clear far away from the start to the finish. He played with energy, effort, enthusiasm… whatever you needed from him, George Pickens gave it to you.”

Pickens has always possessed the physical tools to become one of the NFL’s most dangerous wide receivers. His ability to win contested catches, beat coverage, and create explosive plays gives Dallas an offensive weapon capable of changing the dynamic of the team.

The Cowboys already have a superstar in CeeDee Lamb , but adding a fully focused Pickens could create one of the league’s toughest wide receiver duos to defend. Opposing defenses will have major problems covering both players, as committing too much attention to Lamb could leave Pickens in favorable one-on-one matchups.

With a healthier Lamb, it would not be surprising to see Pickens deliver a breakout season in 2026 and continue proving the potential he has shown since entering the NFL.

Dak Prescott recently highlighted the connection between his two top offensive weapons, praising the team-first mentality shared by both receivers.

“They truly want the other guy to have just as much success as each of them has individually, and they’re cheering each other on. They just got great personalities; they love to have fun, they love to compete, and I think just if you love the game of football and love to compete, the rest takes care of itself,” Prescott said.

With Prescott leading the offense, Lamb serving as the top target, and Pickens adding a new dimension to the attack, the Cowboys hope this combination can provide the boost they need to finally return to championship contention.
