A convincing victory over the Philadelphia Eagles should have given Brian Schottenheimer plenty to celebrate, but the Dallas Cowboys head coach appeared more interested in leaving his postgame press conference than discussing his team's impressive performance.

Dallas secured a 38-21 win on Monday Night Football, ending a difficult stretch that had intensified scrutiny of Schottenheimer 's offensive decisions and raised questions about the direction of the team.

Yet the coach offered little enthusiasm during his media appearance, delivering unusually brief answers before departing. According to reporter Nick Harris , it was Schottenheimer 's shortest postgame press conference since taking charge.

When someone asked whether he was feeling okay, Schottenheimer responded: "I'm great. Excited for our guys."

Quarterback Dak Prescott , however, suggested there was more behind his coach's restrained reaction, acknowledging the frustration that had accumulated during Dallas' recent struggles.

Prescott didn't attempt to disguise Schottenheimer 's mood when questioned about his coach following the victory.

"Definitely hungry, pissed off version of Shotty," Prescott told reporters. "It's not like he's naive. It's not like he hadn't heard some noise about him.

"And whether it's the call in the games or whatever doubt that's been out there. But we've got his back. He knows that."

The quarterback's remarks reflected the pressure surrounding Schottenheimer after consecutive defeats against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Green Bay Packers left Dallas with a 2-4 record.

Prescott emphasized that the players understood their coach's commitment and remained responsible for delivering improved performances.

"I mean, everybody handles everything differently. And so I don't blame him to an extent," Prescott added.

"And yeah, we've got his back. More importantly, it's just about us going out there and executing on Sundays."

Cowboys offensive problems fuel criticism

The victory over Philadelphia followed two disappointing offensive performances that had raised concerns about Dallas' consistency.

Against Green Bay, the Cowboys managed 303 total yards and committed two turnovers, contributing to a run of five giveaways across two games.

Dallas had also struggled to establish its running game, averaging just 94.3 rushing yards per contest entering the Eagles matchup despite ranking seventh in passing production.

Those problems prompted speculation about whether Schottenheimer should surrender offensive play-calling responsibilities to coordinator Klayton Adams .

Speaking on 105.3 The Fan, radio host Shan Shariff supported such a move.

"I think that Brian Schottenheimer should give the play-calling to Klayton Adams," Shariff said.

Jerry Jones maintains faith

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones had already expressed confidence in the coaching staff before Monday's victory.

"We're in good shape," Jones told 105.3 The Fan, insisting the organization was prepared to address its recent problems.

The win improved Dallas' record to 3-4 and provided Schottenheimer with a welcome response after increasing criticism.

Prescott 's comments also reinforced the support the head coach continues to receive within the locker room, even as outside questions persist.

The Cowboys have demonstrated they can produce an effective offensive performance against a division rival. Their next challenge is proving that Monday's improvement represents a lasting change rather than another isolated result.
