"For God's sake, sign Troy!": Desperate Cowboys fans beg Jerry Jones to bring back Aikman
Troy Aikman could be open to a Cowboys reunion, and fans are already begging Jerry Jones to make it happen

Dallas Cowboys supporters are making their feelings clear: they want Jerry Jones to bring franchise legend Troy Aikman back to the organization, potentially giving the Hall of Fame quarterback a role in the team's front office.
Aikman's broadcasting future has become a talking point amid uncertainty surrounding his ESPN role beyond the 2026 NFL season. With questions about his next career move, a return to Dallas could offer an intriguing alternative.
The three-time Super Bowl champion has gained experience away from television, having worked as a consultant for the Miami Dolphins during their search for a general manager and head coach.
Jones has praised Aikman's football knowledge and abilities, suggesting his former quarterback could handle a variety of responsibilities within the sport.
“Troy is very capable, and he’s so, really relatively speaking, he’s in his youth as careers go,” Jones said. “And he’s very capable of doing any one of a number of things, certainly anything to do with football.
“I don’t know of any area short of getting that kind of feeling, I don’t know of any area that Troy Aikman wouldn’t be qualified and competent to go into.”
Cowboys supporters want Aikman back in Dallas
Speaking with Cowboys insider Mike Fisher, Aikman made it clear that he'd welcome a conversation with his former employer. He said he'd happily meet Jones for breakfast, lunch or dinner, even if the gathering wasn't intended as a job interview.
Their relationship, Aikman acknowledged, has been complicated, but remains rooted in mutual respect as he was Jones' first draft pick and spent 12 seasons playing quarterback for Dallas, helping deliver three Super Bowl championships.
Aikman said that if Jones approached him with a genuine opportunity to improve the Cowboys, he'd find it difficult not to seriously consider the offer. That openness has given supporters reason to imagine a reunion.
Fans took to social media to make their wishes known. One pleaded, "For the love of god, hire Troy ASAP," while others urged Jones to sign the former quarterback without delay.
Dallas hasn't reached an NFC Championship Game since the 1995 season, leaving supporters eager for changes that could help the franchise compete at the highest level. They hope Aikman's experience and football knowledge could strengthen decision-making behind the scenes.
However, fan enthusiasm doesn't mean a reunion is imminent. Aikman has previously indicated that Dallas hasn't offered him a front-office position, despite glowing comments.
The biggest obstacle may be the Cowboys' existing management structure. Jones remains closely involved in football decisions, while his son Stephen Jones holds a prominent role in personnel operations. Giving an outside executive meaningful influence could require a clear division of responsibilities and authority.
Neither side has confirmed formal negotiations, but Aikman's willingness to listen has reopened a conversation supporters have wanted to see develop.
Whether Jones acts remains uncertain.
