George Pickens can dominate NFL defenses, but his Cowboys teammates exposed his golf struggles
It appears that golf is not exactly his strong suit for the star wide receiver.
The Dallas Cowboys wide receiver went viral after a funny moment during a trip to Utah with several of his teammates, including Dak Prescott , one of the biggest golf enthusiasts on the team.
In the video, Pickens grabs the club and prepares for his tee shot… but completely misses the ball. His unusual swing had his teammates bursting into laughter, while Prescott took the opportunity to joke with him and even offer some advice to improve his technique.
The good news for Pickens is that Dak’s tips worked. On his next attempt, the receiver made solid contact and sent the ball a good distance, avoiding an even more embarrassing moment.
Fans did not hold back on Pickens
The video quickly sparked a wave of comments and jokes from fans:
“Golf doesn’t care even a little bit how athletic you are, and George Pickens just found that out on camera,” one user wrote on X.
Others compared his swing to a video game character or to the moves of amateur golfers who play at local courses.
But away from the golf course, Pickens remains one of the most important pieces of Dallas’ offense. In his first season with the Cowboys, he led the team in receptions with 93 catches, 1,429 receiving yards and nine touchdowns.
Despite his impressive production, the wide receiver was unable to reach a contract extension with Dallas during the offseason and will play the season under the franchise tag. If the Cowboys do not reach a new deal or decide to trade him, Pickens could become a free agent in March.
For now, the Cowboys can breathe easy: their star appears to be much more focused on catching passes from Dak Prescott than trying to become the next big name in golf.
