Jake Ferguson and the Cowboys finally give Haley Cavinder and fans a Sunday to celebrate
Jake Ferguson’s wife returned to the stands to watch him play for Dallas, but this time the afternoon ended very differently.

T he Dallas Cowboys appear to have responded quickly after the nightmare they experienced in Week 1 against the New York Giants . The team entered its second game of the season with several of the problems that had already been exposed during 2025 still on the table, but this Sunday, Dallas found a convincing answer at home with a 37-20 win over the Washington Commanders.
The difference was not just on the scoreboard. Dallas showed a much more consistent offense, did not turn the ball over and got four touchdown passes from Dak Prescott , while the defense also made adjustments after a difficult start to the season. And in the middle of that turnaround, a familiar face returned to the spotlight: Haley Cavinder, Jake Ferguson’s wife .
This time, however, No. 87 had a much happier afternoon.
Haley returned to the stands to support Jake
The influencer and former basketball player showed up wearing beige-fringed denim pants , paired with a cropped top and a brown belt featuring the No. 87 at the center, Ferguson’s jersey number with Dallas.
She completed the outfit with brown open-toe heels and wore her hair down, keeping a look that mixed casual pieces with a few more polished details.
And while the outfit already featured a clear reference to Ferguson, what happened a few hours later gave that 87 even more meaning .
No. 87 finally had a reason to celebrate
Ferguson quickly became part of the story.
The Cowboys tight end finished with 4 receptions for 43 yards and 2 touchdowns , becoming one of the key pieces of Dallas’ offense during the win.
Both touchdowns came through the air and marked a significant difference from what happened in the season opener, when Ferguson finished with just 2 receptions for 6 yards against the Giants .
Prescott also had a day to remember
Dallas’ offense found much more consistency this time, led by Dak Prescott , who finished with four touchdown passes.
His performance also carried special significance for the franchise. With those touchdown passes, he broke the Cowboys’ franchise record for passing touchdowns .
CeeDee Lamb also contributed to the offensive production, while the defense recorded two sacks and limited Washington’s rushing attack.
On the other side, the Commanders also had to deal with the departure of Jayden Daniels , who suffered a left elbow injury on the final play of the first half. Marcus Mariota then took over for the remainder of the game.
The Cowboys will have little time to enjoy the turnaround, with Week 3 already on the horizon.
Dallas will return to action on Sunday, September 27, 2026 , when the team hosts the Baltimore Ravens in its next game of the season.
