Jerry Jones delivers a blunt message to Dak Prescott and the Cowboys after last-second loss to Ravens
The Cowboys lost because they let the Ravens get a field goal try with seven seconds left in regulation

The 2026 NFL season has delivered relentless drama through the opening weeks, highlighted by a staggering Week 3 , when 12 of the 14 Sunday game s were decided by a single possession..
Among the most electrifying spectacles was a historic matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the Baltimore Ravens , giving more than 70,000 fans a heart-stopping finish.
Regulation concluded with a dramatic 56-yard field goal from Ravens kicker Tyler Loop as time expired, sealing a 34-31 victory and sparking celebrations featuring an iconic " Siuuu" tribute to Cristiano Ronaldo .
The Cowboys appeared poised for a dramatic comeback after driving to the 2-yard line with just 23 seconds remaining and a single timeout left, but they ultimately opted for a short field goal to knot the score at 31-31 .
That decision left 7 precious seconds on the game clock, plenty of time for Lamar Jackson to hook up with Zay Flowers on a crucial 27-yard completion that set up Loop's walk-off heroics.
Jerry Jones Delivers Blunt Warning as Cowboys Face Early-Season Adversity
Dropping to a 1-2 record marks the third consecutive year Dallas has stumbled out of the gate with a losing ledger through three weeks, placing mounting pressure on the front office, head coach Brian Schottenheimer , and quarterback Dak Prescott .
Speaking bluntly on 105.3 The Fan's Shan and RJ show , owner Jerry Jones dismissed any room for sugarcoating after squandering a prime opportunity against Baltimore. "There is no explanation that you’re satisfied with. None. Let’s be sure that we all understand that," Jones stated.
"We made mistakes during that time, there’s no question about it. There’s no explanation. There’s an evaluation of how to not make the same mistakes again, which is what you should be doing."
Despite the frustrating skid, Jones emphasized that the division race remains wide open given early stumbles and injuries across the NFC East , adding, "We are very much in the hunt. We’re just getting started. ... We will be better because of the experience that we had with Baltimore and what happened to us at the end of the game."
Ahead of a demanding October schedule , Dallas must quickly shore up its defensive vulnerabilities. The schedule starts with a matchup against the 0-3 Houston Texans on Sunday.
Then, the team will face three straight primetime games : a Thursday night home game against the now 0-3 Tampa Bay Buccaneers , a Sunday night trip to Green Bay , and a Monday night game in Philadelphia .
Starting November with a winning record would be a major positive, but first, Dallas has to improve considerably on defense.
