The Rams tackle struck the Bills linebacker during postgame handshakes and jersey exchanges

T he tension from the Rams-Bills game spilled over after the final whistle. As players exchanged jerseys and spoke on the field, Los Angeles tackle Alaric Jackson approached Buffalo linebacker Bradley Chubb and punched him in the jaw. The hit knocked Chubb’s hat off and was captured on camera. The NFL also published video of the incident.
The altercation happened Monday, October 12, after Buffalo beat Los Angeles 37-34 in overtime. Jackson was exchanging jerseys with Bills lineman Deone Walker when he and Chubb exchanged words. Reports have not confirmed what either player said or what prompted Jackson to throw the punch.
Bradley Chubb says he chose not to retaliate
Players from both teams quickly separated the two. Rams tight end Colby Parkinson pulled Jackson away, while Chubb’s teammates intervened as well. During a postgame interview on the field, Bills quarterback Josh Allen looked toward the commotion and said they needed to break something up.
Chubb said he was fine and decided not to escalate the confrontation. “It’s just emotions, you know what I mean? Emotional game. It was a close game,” he told the California Post.
He added that he let Jackson swing, then was held back by his teammates. Chubb also said he was ready to play the following week.
The loss came after a tense overtime finish. The Rams missed a chance to win, and Buffalo secured the victory with a field goal by Tyler Bass. Chubb said tempers had flared during an emotional game, but that he and the Bills had moved on.
