San Francisco 49ers vs Washington Commanders, featured game of Week 6

Monday Night Football at Levi"s Stadium in Santa Clara pits two teams on opposite trajectories against each other. The San Francisco 49ers arrive as one of only two undefeated teams in the entire NFL: 5-0 , leaders of the NFC West and second in the overall standings with a +61 point differential (154 points scored, 93 allowed), the best offense in the conference. Across from them, the Washington Commanders (1-1-3) sit at the bottom of the NFC East and carry a fragile defense: 149 points allowed, the second-worst figure in the NFC.

San Francisco's offense has more than enough names to exploit that weakness. Quarterback Brock Purdy leads an offense loaded with weapons: running back Christian McCaffrey, tight end George Kittle and a receiving corps featuring Brandon Aiyuk, Deebo Samuel Sr., Mike Evans and Christian Kirk, all protected by veteran tackle Trent Williams. It's an arsenal that few defenses can contain.

Washington, for its part, is relying on the talent of its quarterback Jayden Daniels and top-tier receivers like Terry McLaurin and Stefon Diggs, with Austin Ekeler and Rachaad White in the backfield. The problem is not scoring —115 points in five games— but stopping opponents: if they do not make adjustments on defense, the unbeaten home team could turn the night into an offensive festival.

What are the NFL Week 6 predictions?

At Levi's Stadium, logic points to the 49ers: undefeated, at home, and with a superior offense against a defense that can't stop anyone. It's hard to see Washington containing Purdy and company for four quarters.

In the AFC West, Kansas City starts as the clear favorite in Los Angeles against a Chargers team still without a win, and Baltimore arrives with the momentum to prevail in Cleveland. San Francisco's unbeaten record, barring a massive upset, should remain intact by the end of the gameweek.
