Simone Biles has spent much of her career working toward moments decided by fractions of a second, but creating her dream home with husband Jonathan Owens required a very different kind of patience.

The Olympic gymnastics champion and NFL player reportedly invested approximately $3 million in a property north of Houston, Texas, embarking on an extensive project to create a residence tailored to their lifestyle.

After years of planning, renovations and construction delays, Biles revealed in November 2025 that the home was finally ready.

The completed property combines contemporary architecture with private entertainment facilities, outdoor recreation areas and several unusual personal touches.

The approximately 4,000-square-foot residence has been designed around open living spaces, natural light and views of the surrounding landscape.

Double-height rooms create a spacious atmosphere, while large sliding doors connect the ground-floor interiors with the property's outdoor areas.

Upstairs terraces overlook the water, offering the couple additional space to relax or entertain guests away from their demanding professional schedules.

The mansion also features a private movie theater, dedicated games room and bar, providing several entertainment options without leaving home.

Its kitchen follows a contemporary design, combining white cabinetry with gray countertops and an oversized central island.

The primary bathroom includes a spacious shower, freestanding bathtub and large mirror, while the outdoor grounds feature a built-in trampoline and private sports court.

Why Simone Biles installed four washing machines

Among the mansion's more surprising features is an unusually well-equipped laundry room containing four washing machines.

The decision reflects a practical consideration rather than a purely decorative choice, with Biles explaining that she wanted enough appliances for herself and Owens to wash their clothes simultaneously.

The detail is particularly amusing given the gymnast's previous admission that she had never done her own laundry before leaving her parents' home.

Biles also acknowledged that she had initially been unfamiliar with operating a dishwasher, making the elaborate laundry setup an unexpected addition to her new surroundings.

Despite the property's luxurious appearance, such choices suggest the couple placed considerable emphasis on making their home functional for everyday life.

Biles reveals frustration over construction delays

The project was far from straightforward, with Biles documenting its progress through regular Instagram updates as construction continued.

Although the initial design process reportedly took around a year, obtaining approval from the local homeowners association contributed to delays before work began in February 2022.

"Building a house requires a lot of patience," Biles wrote on Instagram while reflecting on the lengthy process.

During construction, the couple lived in another contemporary Houston property, reportedly worth approximately $1.1 million, featuring a white exterior and spacious backyard.

Their eventual move marked an important personal milestone for Biles , whose remarkable gymnastics career has established her among the sport's greatest competitors.

The American superstar has won 11 Olympic medals, including seven golds, while pioneering five gymnastics skills that bear her name.
