Simone Biles hits back after being labeled a "WAG" following her marriage to Jonathan Owens: "Everything I achieved, I did beforehand"
Simone Biles responds to the WAG label while opening up about supporting husband Jonathan Owens

Simone Biles has made it clear that marrying NFL safety Jonathan Owens hasn't changed how she sees herself, even as the Olympic champion finds herself described as a “WAG.”
Speaking exclusively to Us Weekly, Biles said the label doesn't bother her because she knows exactly what she's accomplished independently.
The term, commonly used for the wives and girlfriends of professional athletes, doesn't diminish the career she built long before her relationship with Owens .
“I know who I am and what I’ve accomplished outside of it,” Biles said, pointing to her Olympic achievements as well as her work surrounding mental health and the foster care community. Being identified as an athlete's wife doesn't erase everything Biles has achieved on her own.
Biles entered her relationship with Owens as an established sporting superstar. The pair met through dating app Raya in 2020, when Owens was playing for the Houston Texans.
They married in April 2023 before celebrating with a larger wedding in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, the following month.
Her achievements have continued to grow since then. At the Paris 2024 Olympics, Biles won four medals, including three golds, taking her career Olympic total to 11 medals. Her return to the Games also followed her decision to prioritize her mental health during the Tokyo Olympics.
Biles is changing how she supports Owens
Although Biles remains a devoted supporter of Owens ' NFL career, she's changing how she handles the demands of his schedule. After attending every Bears game last season, including road contests, she decided that traveling to away games throughout another full season would be too difficult.
Owens signed a one-year contract with the Indianapolis Colts in March 2026 after spending the previous two seasons with the Chicago Bears. Biles has already attended Indianapolis' home games against the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans, but she skipped the Colts' September 20 road matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.
“Last year was the first year I went to every single game,” said Biles . “That was really hard. I wanted to be there and show up because he shows up for me.”
Her decision doesn't signal less support for Owens , as Biles has continued celebrating his Colts career, including appearing on the sidelines before Indianapolis' games and sharing affectionate moments with him.
The WAG label is simply another description that doesn't define Biles . As she put it, she knows what she's done.
