Travis Hunter finally gets his first NFL interception and it could change everything

Travis Hunter has been waiting for a moment like this. The Jacksonville Jaguars selected the former Colorado star with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft because they believed he could become something the NFL rarely sees: a legitimate two-way player capable of impacting games at both cornerback and wide receiver. On Sunday, Hunter delivered a reminder of why Jacksonville was willing to make such a massive investment. Late in the second quarter against the New England Patriots, Hunter recorded the first interception of his NFL career, stepping in front of a pass from Drake Maye that was intended for Efton Chism III in the back of the end zone. The takeaway preserved Jacksonville's lead and prevented a Patriots scoring opportunity before halftime.
