T ravis Kelce and Taylor Swift have added another remarkable property to their growing real-estate portfolio, with the Kansas City Chiefs star's $5.35 million purchase in Ohio offering a very different setting from the couple's better-known homes in New York, Rhode Island, Nashville and California.

Kelce purchased the sprawling lakefront estate in Bratenahl, a small village just outside Cleveland, in March 2026, only a few months before he and Swift married.

The property, which sits on 3.5 acres overlooking Lake Erie, combines historic architecture with an extensive collection of amenities designed for entertaining and privacy.

According to property records reported by The Wall Street Journal, the home was originally listed for almost $7 million in 2024 before its asking price was reduced to $5.99 million. Kelce ultimately secured the estate for $5.35 million.

The house dates back to around 1895 and is known as the Moyenage, with its historic character preserved through renovations.

The scale of the property is immediately striking. The main residence measures approximately 21,000 square feet and contains eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, while a former gatehouse has been converted into a two-bedroom guest cottage.

There is also a swimming pool, a five-car garage and dedicated entertainment areas.

The exterior gives the property the appearance of a grand historic estate. Its brick façade, traditional porch and expansive U-shaped driveway are complemented by mature grounds stretching toward the lake.

The location also offers another practical advantage for the high-profile couple: the estate is close to a private airport.

Inside, the design leans heavily into the property's age and architectural history. A sweeping wooden staircase forms one of the home's most distinctive features, with decorative griffin figures positioned on the stair posts.

Rather than resembling a contemporary glass-and-steel mansion, the interior retains a more traditional atmosphere, with elaborate woodwork and classical detailing throughout.

One of the property's formal sitting areas includes a large fireplace, blue walls, floral curtains and a high ceiling decorated with ornate white plasterwork. Another lounge provides a more intimate setting, featuring its own fireplace and an old-fashioned bookcase.

A mansion built for entertaining

The home's entertaining spaces are arguably among its biggest attractions. A large dining room features tall stained-glass windows, providing an impressive backdrop for dinners and gatherings.

The estate also includes a former ballroom that has been adapted for modern entertainment, serving as a game room and home theater.

That combination could suit a couple whose lives regularly involve family, friends and large social circles. The separate guest cottage provides additional accommodation, while the enormous grounds and pool create options for outdoor gatherings during warmer months.

The property's location is also significant for Kelce personally. The NFL star grew up in nearby Cleveland Heights, making the purchase something of a return to his roots rather than simply another luxury acquisition.

The Agency Cleveland brokers David Ayers and Nick Zawitz , who represented the transaction, told The Wall Street Journal: 'We're thrilled for the new owners and so excited for Cleveland.'

Bratenahl itself is unusually small for a community containing estates of this scale. The village had only 1,430 residents in the 2020 census and has a long association with Cleveland's wealthiest families, who historically used the Lake Erie shoreline as an escape from the city.

The Wall Street Journal describes the community as an exclusive enclave characterized by waterfront estates and a strong emphasis on privacy.

That secluded atmosphere could be particularly valuable to Swift and Kelce . Swift owns high-value properties in several major cities, including a substantial New York residence, while Kelce has maintained property in the Kansas City area.

The Ohio mansion offers something different: a huge amount of space in a relatively quiet community while remaining close enough to Cleveland for the couple to enjoy the city.

Kelce's connection to the region has remained visible throughout his relationship with Swift . The singer has accompanied him to Cleveland Cavaliers games and has increasingly been seen embracing his ties to his hometown.

The new estate also arrives as the couple's family life has attracted renewed attention. They recently introduced their white Samoyed, reportedly named Wendy , to the public after the dog appeared alongside Kelce in a Tommy Hilfiger campaign.

Kelce told Vogue of the dog: 'We figured, why not her? She crushed it and actually really fit into that Tommy aesthetic, too. Those are some of my favorite shots.'

He also said of the pet: 'She lights up my day.'

Now, with their Ohio retreat offering 21,000 square feet of living space, multiple entertainment rooms, a pool, guest accommodations and Lake Erie views, Kelce and Swift have a property capable of serving as both a private getaway and a substantial gathering place.

For Kelce, it represents a return to the area where he grew up. For Swift, it adds another distinctive destination to an already extensive property portfolio.

And for both, the Bratenahl estate provides something increasingly difficult to find at their level of fame: considerable space, historic character and proximity to a major city without being in the middle of it.
