Brittany Mahomes has offered a message of support to Laura Smith-Schuster after the wife of JuJu Smith-Schuster publicly shared the deeply personal story of two pregnancy losses.

Laura opened up about her fertility journey on Instagram, describing the emotional toll of multiple procedures, a failed IVF attempt and, ultimately, back-to-back miscarriages.

Her post prompted messages from people within the NFL community, including Brittany, who has remained close to many members of the Kansas City Chiefs family.

Laura explained that her first pregnancy loss came after she and JuJu learned they were expecting in July 2025. At an eight-week ultrasound, they received devastating news.

“And in July 2025, I found out I was pregnant,” Laura said on Instagram ..

“We were so happy and felt so blessed. But at our eight-week ultrasound, there was no heartbeat. I had never felt a pain like that before, and I felt truly heartbroken. Once again, we had to shift our focus and pour everything we had into each other and into the things that brought us joy, finding so much faith and so many little things to be grateful for along the way.”

Laura said the couple subsequently tried to concentrate on their lives together and their faith. She described several major personal milestones before the family received another pregnancy announcement.

“We bought a house, I got baptized for the first time in my life, and one month later, we found out we were pregnant again. But no one really tells you how fleeting that happiness can feel after a miscarriage. You can be so overjoyed while also carrying this deep feel right alongside it. And unfortunately, at five weeks, I miscarried again. We clung to our faith and helped each other through another heartbreaking loss.”

The Smith-Schusters ' story has also attracted attention because of their connection to the Chiefs community. JuJu spent the 2022 season in Kansas City, where he played an important role on the team's offense during its Super Bowl LVII championship campaign.

The veteran receiver later returned to Kansas City before signing with the New York Giants in June 2026. New York's official announcement noted that Smith-Schuster had accumulated 481 receptions, 5,624 receiving yards and 33 touchdowns over his first nine NFL seasons.

The Giants subsequently released Smith-Schuster on August 18, meaning his time on the team's roster was brief.

Brittany Mahomes joins NFL community in supporting Laura

The connection between the Smith-Schusters and Mahomes family extends beyond football.

Laura and JuJu began their relationship in January 2023, when Smith-Schuster was still playing for Kansas City. He later proposed to her in September of that year during a trip to Nantucket. The couple eventually married at the Ritz-Carlton in Laguna Niguel, California, on July 10, 2026, surrounded by friends and family.

Their wedding also brought together several familiar faces from Smith-Schuster's Chiefs years, including Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce , according to the information shared by Laura.

Now, rather than celebrating a wedding, members of that same circle have rallied around the couple during a painful chapter.

Brittany Mahomes responded directly to Laura's Instagram post with a message of encouragement.

“Sending so many prayers and so much love y’all’s way! Y’all got this,” she wrote.

JuJu also responded publicly, emphasizing the role of faith in helping the couple process what happened.

“Truly a blessing, and God is so faithful! Journey with you 🤎 love you pookie you the best,” JuJu wrote.

Other NFL families added their own messages. Maureen Remigio, wife of Chiefs receiver Nikko Remigio, commented: “Your story is so powerful, and I just know the best is coming ♥️,” while Hilary Trubisky, wife of Titans quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, wrote, “Your rainbow baby is coming soon 🙏♥️ sending love and prayers.”

Parker Elisabeth Henry , wife of Patriots tight end Hunter Henry , also responded: “Laura, your story is going to inspire so many!! Praying for you guys ❤️,” she commented.

Laura's decision to discuss her experience has therefore brought a wave of support from several NFL families, while also highlighting the private struggles that can exist behind the public lives of professional athletes and their families.

For Laura and JuJu, the focus now appears to be on moving through the loss together. Their messages emphasize faith, partnership and gratitude, while the response from friends and fellow NFL families has shown that the couple has a wider support network around them during an exceptionally difficult period.
