Brittany Mahomes' tactic for "sidelining" other women who try to flirt with Patrick
Brittany and Patrick have dated since high school, but it hasn’t always been easy

As Patrick Mahomes saw his fame explode with the Kansas City Chiefs , everyone showed interest, including women looking to put his relationship with Brittany under pressure – a stress she eventually had to learn to tune out.
Their story began as teenage sweethearts in 2012, years before Patrick was winning NFL MVP s and leading the Chiefs to Super Bowls . Brittany knew him before the cameras, the headlines and the constant public scrutiny that now surround the quarterback.
It’s little surprise that the two married, having begun dating in high school, but as her husband’s success made him one of the biggest names in American sports, attention from other women became an unavoidable part of their public lives.
And Brittany addressed that challenge by admitting that she had not always found it easy to ignore women who pursued her man, revealing she used to get “extremely annoyed”.
“I did use to have a very hard time and get extremely annoyed,” Brittany said via Instagram. “But I am now to a point where I could care less. It’s actually really sad how disrespectful some women are, but they are a waste of my time and not going to disturb my peace.”
Rather than getting drawn into every interaction, Brittany explained that she had changed her approach and that has proven key as the Mahomes family has grown with three children, Sterling , Bronze and Golden .
And although it’s Patrick who wins all of the praise on the field, he does not forget his wife and has spoken about the qualities he appreciates in Brittany, particularly the confidence she brings to their family and her professional life.
“I admire my wife Brittany’s confidence,” Mahomes told People. “Whether it’s in business, or supporting our family, she always leads with strength and purpose. That kind of confidence is powerful; it pushes me to be better every day.”
Mahomes aims to shine against Miami Dolphins but isn't getting overconfident
That ability to block the outside noise has become relevant to Patrick and the Chiefs as they begin the 2026 NFL season, securing two wins with a 31-10 triumph over the Denver Broncos and a 33-30 overtime victory against the Indianapolis Colts .
Mahomes has looked increasingly comfortable following major knee surgery, throwing for 566 yards and five touchdowns across those two games. Yet the quarterback is refusing to let the team's fast start change its approach.
“In this league, it's week-to-week,” Mahomes said ahead of a clash with the Miami Dolphins . “One week they're patting you on the back, and one week they're telling you you're terrible.”
Kansas City endured a 6-11 campaign in 2025 and missed the NFL Playoffs for the first time since 2014, but the Chiefs have quickly gone from preseason skepticism to renewed praise, and the quarterback knows that perception can change just as quickly.
Mahomes threw for 382 yards and three touchdowns against Indianapolis , including a 22-yard completion to running back Kenneth Walker III during the decisive overtime drive before Harrison Butker kicked the winning field goal.
Walker has also given Kansas City another dimension, producing 290 rushing yards and a touchdown on 47 carries while adding 79 receiving yards and another score on nine receptions.
Mahomes understands that two wins do not equal a Super Bowl as Chiefs now turn their attention to the Dolphins in Week 3 , aiming to avoid an embarrassing moment against a team that has allowed 62 points in two games.
