Leaving Travis behind? Taylor Swift swaps her newlywed life for a girls' night out with Dakota Johnson

T aylor Swift may have only recently entered married life, but that has not stopped the pop superstar from making time for one of her closest friends.

Swift reportedly enjoyed a low-key girls' night out with actress Dakota Johnson in Los Angeles, marking a reunion between the longtime friends less than two months after Swift married NFL star Travis Kelce .

According to reports, the pair spent time at the exclusive Bird Streets Club, a members-only hotspot in the Hollywood Hills area.

Neither Swift nor Johnson was photographed directly during the outing, although a picture shared online appeared to show a member of Swift's security team outside the venue.

The timing of the meeting has naturally attracted attention, particularly because Johnson has recently been at the center of breakup reports.

People reported earlier this week that Johnson and musician Tucker Pillsbury , better known by his stage name Role Model, had ended their relationship. A source told the publication that the pair had split “a while ago,” although neither Johnson nor Pillsbury has publicly confirmed the details.

Swift and Johnson's latest reunion therefore comes at an interesting moment for the actress, who has maintained a relatively private approach to her personal life.

The friendship between Swift and Johnson is not a new development.

The two stars have been connected for years and were last publicly spotted together in May 2025, when they reportedly had dinner at New York City's Via Carota alongside Swift's brother Austin and Johnson's brother Jesse.

Their friendship also produced one of the more memorable celebrity moments during Johnson's 2024 “Saturday Night Live” hosting appearance.

During her opening monologue, Johnson looked toward Swift in the audience while joking about the singer's enormous influence. “And look who’s sitting right behind me,” she said, before adding, “[It’s] crazy to be standing so close to someone who would become the most powerful person in America.”

The friendship has continued despite both women navigating major changes in their personal lives.

For Swift , one of the biggest changes came just weeks ago when she and Kelce finally became husband and wife.

The couple tied the knot at Madison Square Garden in New York City on July 3. Swift's representative confirmed the marriage, with comedian Adam Sandler officiating the ceremony. Swift's brother Austin served as her “Man of Honor,” while Kelce's brother Jason was his best man.

The wedding itself was anything but understated. The couple celebrated at the iconic arena in front of a huge gathering of family, friends and celebrity guests, while screens outside Madison Square Garden displayed the message “JUST&T MARRIED!”

Johnson was among the high-profile guests. She attended the celebration in a striking black halter-neck gown with a thigh-high slit, completing the look with black peep-toe heels.

That makes her reported reunion with Swift particularly notable. Rather than disappearing completely into newlywed life, Swift appears to be maintaining the friendships that have been important to her for years.

Johnson's reported split adds another layer to the reunion

Johnson's reported breakup with Role Model is also fresh in the public conversation.

The actress and Pillsbury were first linked in December 2025 after being seen together in Los Angeles.

Their relationship gradually became more public during 2026, including appearances together and a creative collaboration on Pillsbury's music. Johnson provided a spoken-word contribution to his song “Love I You,” which appeared on his album Chuck Timely & the Hourglass.

Pillsbury had previously spoken positively about bringing Johnson into the recording process, explaining that she came to the studio and ended up contributing to the track.

Despite that apparent closeness, reports now say the relationship has ended.

Swift's reported night out with Johnson could therefore simply be what longtime friends do: spend time together when one of them is going through a major transition.

It also comes as Swift herself has been undergoing a dramatically different transition following her wedding. After years of intense public attention surrounding her relationship with Kelce, the singer is now navigating life as a newlywed while continuing to balance her career and personal relationships.

Interestingly, Swift has also recently been seen outside the United States. She attended the August 15 wedding of friends Oli Jacobs and Laura Sisk in Gloucestershire, where she debuted a noticeably shorter hairstyle with side-swept bangs.

Her latest Los Angeles outing suggests that, despite the enormous attention surrounding her marriage, Swift still values ordinary moments with her inner circle.

And with Johnson reportedly coming out of a relationship of her own, the timing of their girls' night may have given the two friends plenty to catch up on.
