T he Kansas City Current wants to turn its final regular-season home game into a moment fans and young players will remember. The club is aiming to bring together 18,000 supporters on October 25, when it faces the Washington Spirit. Brittany Mahomes , a former soccer player and one of the team’s founders, helped spread the word by sharing the announcement on Instagram.

The 18,000 goal does not mean packing that many people into CPKC Stadium. The club plans to welcome 12,000 fans inside the venue and another 6,000 at nearby Current Landing, where they can watch the match on outdoor screens. The team calls the event “One Current: Bigger Home. Bigger Future.”

Why this milestone means more to Brittany Mahomes

Mahomes’ connection to the event comes from her own time in the sport. She played college soccer and spent a year as a professional in Iceland before becoming a fitness entrepreneur and a founder of the Current. Patrick Mahomes has also said he wants his daughter to grow up knowing she can pursue her dreams in sports.

Forbes ranked the Current as the NWSL’s second-most valuable team in 2026, estimating its value had risen 18% in a year.

The match is also designed as a full day for the Kansas City community. Grounds passes start at $10, and the plans include a DJ, food trucks, games and activities.

The first 10,000 attendees across the stadium and Current Landing will receive a team flag ; after the match, fans can stay for a watch party for the Chiefs’ game against the Seattle Seahawks.

For the Current, the target is a chance to set a club attendance milestone and bring more people into women’s soccer. For Mahomes, who played the game before helping build a team around it, that crowd could also help make the sport’s next generation more visible. The club is asking Kansas City to show up and giving fans a chance to be part of that story.
