Russell Wilson's suggestion to Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes to make the Chiefs unbeatable: Tyreek Hill
Wilson believes a healthy Tyreek Hill would give Kansas City another explosive dimension after recent receiver injuries

The Kansas City Chiefs have opened the season 4-0, but their perfect record has come with a growing problem on offense.
Rashee Rice is dealing with a hamstring injury, while Tyquan Thornton is sidelined indefinitely with a dislocated ankle.
That has left Kansas City thinner at wide receiver and revived talk of a reunion with Tyreek Hill . Former NFL quarterback Russell Wilson thinks the Chiefs should move quickly.
“I’m going after Tyreek Hill right now. If I’m the Chiefs, I’m making sure that he’s healthy,” Wilson said on CBS Sports show Set, Hut!
Hill is currently a free agent after being released by the Miami Dolphins in February while recovering from the major knee injury that ended his 2025 season.
Offense with no obvious weakness
Wilson ’s argument is built around what Hill could add to a unit that already has Patrick Mahomes , Travis Kelce and Kenneth Walker III .
“Imagine if they add Tyreek Hill to that offense,” Wilson said. “You know, Travis Kelce, they got Kenneth Walker, they got Patrick Mahomes healthy, dominating, playing great again.”
Hill ’s ability to stretch the field was one of the defining features of Kansas City’s offense during his first stint with the team. Wilson believes that element could make an already balanced Chiefs attack even more difficult to defend.
“If he’s healthy, the dynamic-ness of throwing the ball down the field, they got explosive plays in the pass game, they got explosive plays in the running game. I don’t know how you’re going to beat these guys,” he said.
Hill spent his first six NFL seasons in Kansas City, won Super Bowl LIV and developed into one of the league’s most dangerous receivers before being traded to Miami.
Recovery will determine whether reunion becomes realistic
The biggest question isn't whether Hill knows Andy Reid ’s offense. It is whether he is healthy enough to help.
Hill has indicated that he is targeting a November return as he continues rehabbing the knee injury that cut short his 2025 season. His agent, Drew Rosenhaus , has suggested a decision could come soon.
“I would anticipate Tyreek potentially signing with a team over the next few days,” Rosenhaus said.
Kansas City has reportedly been in contact with Hill ’s camp, and the injuries to Rice and Thornton give the Chiefs even more reason to explore the possibility.
A reunion wouldn't come without risk. Hill would be returning from a serious injury, and there's no guarantee he immediately recaptures the explosiveness that once made him one of the NFL’s most dangerous players.
But Wilson ’s point is easy to understand. If Hill returns at anything close to his previous level, pairing his speed with Mahomes, Kelce and Walker would give defenses another problem they cannot afford to ignore.
