“She kicks him in the butt”: Andy Reid credits Travis Kelce's great start to the season to Taylor Swift
Kelce produced over 100 yards as the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Indianapolis Colts.

Travis Kelce has opened the season looking rejuvenated, and head coach Andy Reid believes Taylor Swift may deserve some of the credit after the veteran tight end's strong start with the Kansas City Chiefs .
The 36-year-old Kelce caught nine passes for 101 yards and a touchdown Sunday night as Kansas City defeated the Indianapolis Colts 33-30 in overtime at Arrowhead Stadium .
The performance marked Kelce 's first 100-yard regular-season game since November 2024 as the team moved to 2-0 in the 2026 NFL season, whist his 67 yards after the catch moved him to the top of the all-time list in that category.
And Reid was asked if he had any doubts about his player's preparation after an offseason that included his July wedding to Swift , but the 68-year-old dubbed 'Big Red' emphatically dismissed the claims.
“Everybody questioned with the wedding and all that,” Reid said. “Would he be out of shape and honeymooning the whole time and all that? But he works his rear end off.
“And I think Taylor (Swift), you’re putting on four-hour shows, you’ve got to work hard, too. So, I’m sure she kicks him in the butt a little bit there, too.”
The billionaire Swift has attended both Chiefs games this season, including Sunday's victory on September 20 , where she celebrated her husband's touchdown from the stands while showing her wedding ring.
Chiefs edge out Colts to maintain perfect record
Kelce continued to answer questions about whether his age and offseason would affect his performance as he has produced 12 catches for 172 yards and a touchdown through two games.
The Chiefs will now take their 2-0 record into their next matchup against the lowly Miami Dolphins , with the tight end once again looking like a major part of an offense built around Mahomes and running back Kenneth Walker .
Kelce 's performance helped Kansas City remain unbeaten, but the Chiefs needed a dramatic finish to escape Indianapolis after the Colts repeatedly matched their offensive production.
Mahomes threw for 382 yards and three touchdowns with a vintage performance, whilst Walker rushed for 117 yards before setting up the game-winning sequence in overtime.
The Colts appeared to have lost a potential game-winning opportunity when Laquon Treadwell 's catch was initially ruled a fumble, but replay determined he was down by contact.
The Colts then faced fourth-and-8 and chose to kick a field goal rather than attempt to extend the drive in overtime, and handing the ball back to Mahomes sealed their fate as he responded by finding Walker for a 22-yard completion.
That put Harrison Butker in position to win the game, and the experienced kicker duly did so as the resurgent Chiefs establish themselves as one of the Super Bowl favourites once again.
