Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's post-wedding move? Surprising details emerge about where newlyweds will settle

The pair may have just exchanged vows, but reportedly have no plans to establish one permanent home

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are entering married life with a housing arrangement that is considerably different from that of most newlyweds.

Rather than choosing one property and treating it as their permanent year-round home, the couple are reportedly planning to move between several residences depending on where their careers take them. For now, however, Kansas City remains the couple's main base.

A source familiar with their plans told Page Six that Kelce's home in Leawood, Kansas, is currently the couple's primary residence, particularly while he continues playing for the Kansas City Chiefs .

“Right now, Travis’ Leawood [Kansas] home is his and Taylor’s primary residence and a big home base for them especially while [he’s still playing for the Chiefs],” the source said.

“He bought the place a few years back. But that doesn’t mean Kansas City will always be their primary home. Where they’re based is going to change depending on what they both have going on.”

That arrangement makes practical sense given Kelce 's football career. During the NFL season, his professional commitments keep him in the Kansas City area, with training, games and team activities dictating much of his schedule.

The Chiefs are preparing for the 2026 season, and Kelce 's return to football follows a particularly eventful offseason. He married Swift at Madison Square Garden in July after their relationship became one of the most closely followed celebrity romances in the world.

Kansas City isn't the only city likely to serve as a home base.

New York, Ohio and beyond

New York remains particularly important to Swift , who has maintained a substantial presence in the city for years.

“New York is obviously a big home base for them too. Taylor has had her place in Tribeca for years and owns several properties there, including the penthouses she combined and the townhouse next door,” the insider added.

“She also has homes in Nashville, Rhode Island and Beverly Hills, so they have plenty of options depending on where they need to be.”

The couple have already demonstrated that New York will remain part of their lives following their wedding. They were photographed enjoying a date night at Ambassadors Clubhouse in the NoMad neighborhood over the weekend.

Swift and Kelce arrived together, with the Chiefs tight end placing his hand on his wife's back as they entered the restaurant. The most intriguing addition to their property portfolio, however, could be the home in Ohio.

Kelce recently purchased a $5.3 million lakefront property in Bratenahl, an affluent suburb of Cleveland. The 21,000-square-foot house reportedly contains eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, along with amenities including a swimming pool, game room, home theater, billiards room, bar and fitness center.

The location also has particular significance for Kelce because of his Ohio roots. He grew up in Cleveland Heights, meaning the new property places him close to the area where he spent his childhood.

“It's this beautiful property in Bratenahl just a few miles from Cleveland Heights where he grew up,” the source continued. “It's not like they bought a house like that and aren't planning to use it.”

The property is expected to become especially useful during the NFL offseason. According to the source: “They’ll definitely be spending plenty of time at the new Ohio house too especially during Travis’ offseason.”

The purchase also gives the couple another potential escape from the intense attention that surrounds them in places such as New York and Kansas City.

Their Cleveland-area neighbors have already said they expect to respect the couple's privacy, despite the excitement surrounding their arrival. Ultimately, the biggest change could come when Kelce 's football career ends.

The 36-year-old tight end has previously faced questions about how much longer he intends to play, although he remains focused on the Chiefs for now.

His continued NFL career naturally makes Kansas City the most convenient location during the season, while his retirement could give the couple considerably more freedom.

“They’re not looking at it like they have to pick one house and that’s where they’re going to live year round,” the insider said. “Their lives take them to different places throughout the year, so where they consider home base is really going to depend on what they have going on at the time.”

That flexible lifestyle may be particularly suited to Swift and Kelce , whose careers require them to spend significant portions of the year in different cities. The couple's wedding itself was a reflection of that unusual lifestyle.

They married at Madison Square Garden on July 3 in a highly secretive ceremony attended by more than 1,000 guests, with Adam Sandler serving as officiant and Stevie Nicks among the performers.

Kelce later described the wedding as “the best night of my life” while speaking at Chiefs training camp, although he kept many details private.

Swift and Kelce 's relationship began publicly in 2023 after Swift attended a Chiefs game, and they announced their engagement in August 2025. Now, after their wedding, the next chapter appears to involve not one fixed home but several.

For the moment, Kansas City is the closest thing the couple has to a permanent base. But with New York, Nashville, Rhode Island, Beverly Hills and their new Ohio property all available, their definition of "home" may depend more on their schedules than on any single address.
