Taylor Swift clashes with Jason Kelce as she steps into her fun aunt era
Taylor may be taking her role as the fun aunt seriously, but Jason Kelce is not making it easy
They say great power comes with great responsibility, and everything points to Swift being an important figure in the lives of Jason and Kylie Kelce’s daughters. Swift’s different eras have marked major moments in her life, and this time is no different as she embraces what it means to be the fun aunt for a very relatable reason revealed by Kylie.
Taylor’s cat influence is already working
Swift is well known for her love of cats, and that passion appears to be rubbing off on her nieces , despite Kylie being more of a dog person. Swift’s cats, Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson and Benjamin Button, have become favorite companions for Wyatt, Elliotte, Bennett and Finnley.
Kylie explained on an episode of her Not Gonna Lie podcast that she grew up in a home with both cats and dogs . Now, her children are exposed to cats through important influences in their lives, with Aunt Taylor being a major one . The problem starts when they return home and realize there are no cats waiting for them.
Kylie said she has been trying to convince Jason that there is a need for a cat in their home, but the former NFL star has not been willing to listen because he is allergic to feline hair.
Jason Kelce is fighting back
That could make the aunt and uncle’s house the fun house , especially if that is where the girls can spend time with cats and e njoy the experience they cannot have at home.
The situation becomes even more complicated because Jason is not a cat person . The Philadelphia Eagles alum’s family already includes Freddie, a German shepherd, and Nessie, an Irish wolfhound. He previously admitted that he told his daughters cats were poisonous in an attempt to make them lose interest.
During a 2024 episode of his and brother Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast, J ason joked that he told his daughters the government would take them away if they had a cat because cats were so lethal they could kill them . He explained that the lie was his way of avoiding having another animal in the house while m aking the girls afraid of cats.
Jason also acknowledged that he needed to get his kids on his side because otherwise he would be fighting a losing battle . He does not want another animal in the house, especially after his dogs have already ruined the furniture.
The battle for a Kelce family cat continues
The battle is far from over, and Taylor’s influence may prove stronger than Jason’s efforts . With the girls already going crazy over cats, the fun aunt could be winning the feline battle.
Swift previously revealed during her 2025 appearance on New Heights that once she got the kids around cats, her goal was to prove they were not poisonous . Her strategy was simple: introduce them to Benjamin Button, her Ragdoll cat, who lets people hold him like a baby.
