Travis Kelce has a sweet response to Taylor Swift's viral outburst at Arrowhead: “I had to make her proud”
Kelce exploded for over 100 yards against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday Night Football.

Taylor Swift ’s celebration after Travis Kelce ’s touchdown quickly became one of the defining moments of the Kansas City Chiefs ’ win and now, the NFL star has revealed what he made of his wife’s viral reaction. Swift made her feelings known at Arrowhead Stadium after the 36-year-old tight end found the end zone, as the cameras spied her pointing to her wedding ring and declaring, “That’s my husband!”
The clip quickly went viral across the internet, and the three-time Super Bowl champion addressed it alongside his older brother, Jason , during Wednesday’s episode of their New Heights podcast. “Just doing my deed as a husband,” Travis coolly quipped on September 23 . “Listen man, proud wife, baby. Gotta make my girl proud.” His touchdown was part of a standout night against the Indianapolis Colts , as the Chiefs escaped with a dramatic 33-30 overtime victory to improve to 2-0 for the 2025 NFL season. The score came during a game in which Kelce looked particularly sharp, helping Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs overcome a back-and-forth contest that ultimately went down to the final kick.
Kelce reacts to historic achievement against Colts
Kelce finished with nine catches for 101 yards and that touchdown for one of his best games in recent years, and one that gave him another milestone to celebrate after an eventful night in Kansas City . The veteran also set an NFL record for career receiving yards after the catch, surpassing Marshall Faulk with 6,288 yards after the catch to become the outright leader of any position – including wide receiver. “This is by far the craziest thing and honestly one of the coolest accomplishments I’ve ever had,” Travis continued. “I had no idea I was even in the ballpark. I didn’t know I was Top 5, Top 10, ever. I would have guessed there was so many more. “You don’t get this kind of stuff without having the guys around you to help you get these yards, but at the same time, man, it’s a pretty cool stat to be a part of. “When I’ve got the ball in my hands, I’m doing the most I can with it. It’s proven throughout the history of the NFL that I’ve been pretty good at it.” After Indianapolis and Kansas City traded field goals in overtime, Mahomes connected with Kenneth Walker for a 22-yard completion that put Harrison Butker in position to kick the winning 40-yard field goal. Mahomes threw for 382 yards and three touchdowns, while Walker rushed for 117 yards. Butker then delivered the decisive moment, and critics now wonder if the Chiefs are truly back after finishing with a 6-11 record in 2025.
