Travis Kelce reveals Kylie's 'betrayal' after Jason's retirement still hurts: "My sister-in-law will tell me to my face, 'f**k you'"

Travis has learned that family ties don't always come before football loyalties

Travis Kelce knows exactly where he stands with Kylie Kelce when the Kansas City Chiefs come up against the Philadelphia Eagles .

The Chiefs tight end might be part of her extended family, but that does not mean she is prepared to put her Philadelphia allegiance aside.

The subject resurfaced during the November 4 episode of the New Heights podcast, which Travis hosts alongside his older brother, Jason Kelce .

Discussing the Chiefs ' upcoming meeting with the New York Jets , the brothers were joined by producer Jake Chatzky , a longtime Jets supporter who found himself under pressure to declare which side he would back.

Chatzky initially attempted to avoid taking a position, telling Jason: “Don’t do this to me, Jason.”

He eventually admitted: “I’m absolutely rooting for Travis,” before adding, “For sure, I am 100 percent rooting for Travis.”

Travis wasn't entirely convinced by the declaration. He immediately joked: “Do you hear that Jets fans? He’s a f**king phony.”

The Chiefs star then added: “Don’t f**king lie to my face.”

However, the conversation gave Travis an opportunity to highlight the difference between Chatzky 's divided loyalties and Kylie's unwavering support for Philadelphia.

“My sister-in-law will tell me to my face, ‘F**k you,’” Travis joked. “I hope the Birds win.”

There is little doubt that Kylie is comfortable being honest about her football preferences, even when the person on the other side is someone she loves.

The apparent family 'betrayal' is more of a running joke than a genuine source of tension, with Travis seemingly appreciating that she never pretends to support the Chiefs .

Kylie Kelce has never hidden Eagles allegiance

Kylie 's connection to Philadelphia goes well beyond her marriage to Jason . The Pennsylvania native has maintained close relationships with the Eagles organization and the local community, while her husband spent 13 seasons representing the franchise before announcing his retirement in March 2024.

That history helps explain why she has never been willing to abandon the team, even when the Chiefs are involved. Her position became particularly relevant ahead of Super Bowl LIX in February 2025, when Kansas City faced Philadelphia.

Kylie made a point of publicly supporting Travis , acknowledging the work he had put into his career and explaining that she would always celebrate his achievements.

“I think that Travis has been there for his entire career, he has worked so hard and put in so much time that I am truly, as always, cheering Travis on,” she said on her podcast. “And I love him, he's my family. So, I will always cheer on Travis' accomplishments and hopefully successes.”

However, she was equally clear about where her sporting identity remained.

“I was raised to bleed green,” Kylie explained, pointing to her friendships and continuing connections within the Eagles organization.

The Super Bowl ultimately went Philadelphia's way, with the Eagles securing a convincing 40-22 victory over the Chiefs .

For Jason , who had retired from the Eagles the previous year, the result created an uncomfortable emotional situation as he watched his former team defeat his younger brother.

Jason later discussed the difficulty of balancing those loyalties on New Heights, admitting that watching the game was more uncomfortable than he had anticipated.

The family dynamic has therefore produced some memorable football moments, but Kylie has consistently maintained that supporting Travis personally does not require her to change teams.

With Jason now retired and Travis continuing his NFL career in Kansas City, the rivalry remains an entertaining feature of their family life. And judging by Travis ' latest comments, he would much rather receive Kylie's honest response than expect her to pretend the Eagles are not her first choice.
